Grey wavered. Deep down, he didn't want to discard those rings. They served as a constant reminder of his debt to Evelin.
However, with Grace's and Margot's eyes boring into him, the words of refusal stuck in his throat.
"What's the matter, Mr. Ford? Are you reluctant?" Margot pressed.
"Grey!" Grace's brow creased with disapproval.
Grey tightened his jaw and managed a strained smile. "Not at all. Getting invited to the island's groundbreaking ceremony is more than I could hope for."
"Perfect." Margot's smile widened. "I'll get Uncle to arrange two more invitations so we can all attend together."
She could barely contain her excitement at the thought of Evelin's face when she, the discarded ex-wife, would be publicly humiliated as Grey cast away their wedding rings before everyone's eyes.
Everyone would witness that Evelin was nothing more than a woman who'd been thrown aside.
