Selina froze, not daring to budge.
Rey wrapped his arms around her and held on tight before finally releasing her.
"Selina, is it true you don't care about me anymore?" he whispered.
Her entire body went rigid. "Someone like you is way out of my league, Mr. Tanner."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Rey's gaze bore into her.
Selina let out a bitter laugh. "You've spent your whole life having women throw themselves at you, haven't you?
"Back then, I was just the most stubborn one—annoying enough to get your attention, convenient enough for entertainment, and handy enough to keep other women at bay... just like right now, isn't that right?"
Rey went completely silent.
Truth was, when they were together before, those exact thoughts had crossed his mind. But now that they were back together, things were totally different.
