Evelin's POV
"Owe you? What are you talking about?" Rex stared at Jimmy, completely baffled.
Jimmy didn't even glance my way, keeping his focus locked on Rex. "Remember when you were struggling in Valdoria? You came to me for help, but I turned you away. Now, giving stem cells to the person who saved your life? That's how I'm making it right."
Rex looked lost, clearly drawing a blank. He genuinely couldn't recall whatever Jimmy was referring to.
During those dark days in Valdoria, when he'd been wandering around in a daze, his thoughts had been scattered for weeks—he could barely function.
'Did I actually encounter Jimmy back then?' Rex's mind seemed to be working overtime, trying to piece things together.
I grabbed Jimmy's arm firmly. "Stop it. I've already told you—you had no idea who Wolfe was then. You weren't responsible for saving him. You don't owe him anything, and you definitely don't owe me!"
