Evelin's POV
Jimmy and I stared into each other's eyes.
Under the moonlight, his gaze seemed to shimmer with something that could easily throw my heart off balance.
I could sense that saying yes right then would flip my entire future upside down.
"I won't," I answered.
His brow creased. "Why not? Are you still hung up on Grey?"
"No," I said. "I'm done with any feelings for Grey. I won't because I don't love you right now. Plus, I want to go after what I actually want."
Jimmy pressed his lips together.
When I told him I didn't love him, an indescribable sense of loss seemed to wash over his features. He looked like someone who had long stopped asking for love from anyone, but now, he seemed to crave mine.
"What about down the road?" he asked.
"Later on, I—" Before I could get the words out, Jimmy suddenly placed his finger against my lips.
