Evelin's POV
"So what?" I replied, my tone flat and unbothered.
Curiosity had never been one of my stronger traits. When Jimmy first mentioned that off-limits room, I didn't feel even a flicker of interest in discovering what lay behind that door.
His personal business was exactly that—personal.
Margot's expression soured. She'd delivered what she thought was a devastating blow, clearly expecting to witness disappointment, bitterness, or hurt flash across my face. Instead, I remained completely unaffected. Her attack had hit nothing but air.
"Evelin, don't you understand what this means? It signifies that I am the only one special to Jimmy, the only one who knows his secrets. Moreover, even if I break his taboos, he will always forgive me!"
She lifted her chin, radiating smug satisfaction.
I had zero interest in this conversation and started to walk away.
