Jimmy's POV
Grey stared at the figure desperately swimming toward the child in the churning water, his eyes wide with disbelief.
I couldn't look away from Evelin's form cutting through the waves.
My body went rigid. I watched, frozen, as the woman fought against the current.
Wave after wave crashed over her head, yet she pushed deeper into the dangerous waters.
My blood turned to ice, and I couldn't draw breath. The woman who'd been beside me moments ago was now racing toward peril to save someone else.
Those relentless waves threatened to pull her under.
Will I lose her forever? The thought struck like lightning. Just like I lost my mother?
My mind went blank, but my legs were already moving, carrying me toward the violent surf.
Nothing can happen to her, I commanded myself.
She has to be safe.
"Mr. Hamilton!" My bodyguards emerged from the shadows, rushing to block my path.
My safety was their mission, not hers.
I sidestepped one guard while another lunged for me.
