"I won't let you hurt her again," Jaxson declared, his voice cutting through the tension like steel.
"And what if I need to?" I shot back, refusing to back down.
"She's part of the Thor family. Ms. Elysia, you can't just attack her whenever you want," Jaxson replied, shielding Thorne with his body.
I knew his reasons were selfish—he couldn't let anything happen to Thorne before she donated her stem cells to Alice.
I whipped around and drove my fist straight into Jaxson's gut.
"Rex, they're our parents! The people who gave you life! You know exactly who you are, so how can you stand there and let others trash them like garbage?
"If they were still breathing and saw you defending the people who spit on their memory, do you think they'd ever find peace?" I snarled, fury burning through every word.
Hot tears stung my eyes.
