Evelin's POV
The shock hit everyone at once—not just Margot, but Grace, Grey, and every other guest standing around us froze in stunned silence.
"Jimmy, what are you trying to say?" Margot's voice cracked as she finally found her words, the urgency bleeding through.
"Exactly what it sounds like," Jimmy replied smoothly. "If money's really what Evelin's after, wouldn't I be the smarter choice? Everything I could offer her makes Grey's resources look like pocket change."
Margot's face went blank with confusion. I could practically see the wheels turning in her head—she was clearly wondering what the hell he meant by 'better option,' like I was some prize to be won, and how someone as powerful as Jimmy could actually let someone else hold the cards.
Grey's expression shifted through a dozen emotions in seconds. Humiliation, panic, and something that looked dangerously close to jealousy all flashed across his features.
