Evelin's POV
I watched as Margot's frame went rigid. Panic flashed in her eyes, and I could tell her mind was racing, likely wondering what Jimmy had overheard and when I'd managed to call him.
Sweat slicked her palms.
Her body locked up further as Jimmy's imposing silhouette stepped out from behind the wall.
I slipped my phone away and faced Jimmy directly. "Mr. Hamilton, since you caught all of that, I trust you won't hold this against me?"
When Margot had cornered me earlier, something felt off, so I'd secretly dialed Jimmy.
The gamble paid off—I'd just dodged a setup.
"You deliberately baited me!" Margot's delicate features contorted with rage.
"If you hadn't tried to frame me first, none of this would've happened," I replied evenly.
Margot lunged toward me, but Jimmy intercepted her. "Don't touch my people. And another thing—"
Jimmy's stare turned glacial as it fixed on Margot's left eye. "If you leverage that eye again, don't expect me to honor my old promise."
