Chapter 190 - Chapter 190: The Contest

Chapter 190: The Contest

The moment Jiraiya's house exploded, Masahiko sensed many familiar chakra fluctuations approaching rapidly.

Looking at Jiraiya, who was slumped in the ruins looking like he wanted to cry but had no tears, Masahiko felt relieved and deactivated the Eight Gates and Sage Mode.

"Elder Masahiko, what happened here?" The first to arrive was Sakumo, dressed in an Anbu uniform and wearing a mask.

Masahiko waved his hand and looked around. Fortunately, the neighbors around Jiraiya's house were all ninjas, so there were no accidental injuries, just people secretly watching from afar.

"Nothing much. Jiraiya and I were just sparring, and I accidentally used too much force."

Sakumo paused, clearly not believing this explanation. How could Jiraiya be stupid enough to spar with Masahiko?

"Since nothing happened..." He didn't want to get involved, so he turned to leave.

Masahiko quickly stopped him and pointed around. "More and more people are gathering. Go disperse them."

Sakumo was wearing a mask, so his expression wasn't visible, but presumably, he was... not very happy right now.

Masahiko glanced at Jiraiya's despairing look and felt a bit embarrassed. He had gotten a little too excited just now...

"Isn't it just that the house is gone? I'll give you money to build a better one, alright?"

Jiraiya looked up dejectedly. "Old Monster, you destroyed all my collection... only the one in my hand is left... Do you want me to follow in that senior's footsteps too?"

Saying this, he shuddered himself.

Masahiko's face darkened. Sure enough, guilt was wasted on this guy, Jiraiya...

"And half of the novel I worked hard on for a week... That was my, the Great Jiraiya's, first work." Jiraiya looked completely enveloped in sorrow.

Masahiko sighed; this time he really felt a bit embarrassed.

"It's fine, the second time you write it, it will be better. I didn't mean to do it. That book in your hand... I wrote it."

Jiraiya jumped up instantly. "I guessed you wrote it! No wonder you were so agitated. As expected, you admitted it once I bluffed you. Old Monster, I didn't expect you to be this kind of person."

Masahiko stood frozen on the spot, thousands of curses running through his mind.

Looking at the ruins in front of him, Masahiko turned and walked away. "Very good. You can sleep on the streets of Konoha tonight."

"Don't, Senior! Didn't we agree you'd compensate me with a better house?" He decisively switched back to calling him Senior.

Masahiko ignored him. Jiraiya continued to shout from behind, even adding a threat, "Be careful or I'll spread the word that you wrote this kind of book!"

"Then I'll tell everyone that your pursuit of Tsunade is just a cover, and that you actually like Orochimaru in your heart. Let's see who they believe!" Masahiko retorted decisively.

Watching Masahiko walk away, and then looking at his ruined house, Jiraiya really wanted to cry this time.

"Why couldn't I hold it in..."

Masahiko walked further and further away, suddenly realizing he had forgotten his original purpose.

"Forget it. It will probably take some time for Jiraiya to finish his novel. He has to find a place to live first... Besides, I don't want to see him right now."

Masahiko never expected that his identity as a senior writer would become his dark history.

After a few turns, Masahiko arrived at the Konoha Training Grounds, thinking of checking if the three children were slacking off.

However, before he went deep, a battle on the periphery attracted his attention.

The combatants were two five-or-six-year-old children: Might Guy and Kakashi Hatake!

"That's right, today is the weekend, the Ninja Academy is off. Did Guy seek out Kakashi for a contest so soon? He should be much stronger than at the same time in his previous life, so it's normal for the contest time to be advanced. I just don't know which match this is."

Perhaps influenced by Jiraiya, Masahiko's first reaction upon seeing the two wasn't to care about the outcome of the duel, but to worry internally.

"Speaking of which, neither of them seemed to start a family in the original story. Could it be..."

Masahiko quickly shook his head, throwing the messy thoughts out, and focused on the duel in front of him.

Neither used weapons nor the Three Body Technique. It was completely a taijutsu duel. The collision of fists and feet looked evenly matched.

Masahiko didn't step forward. After observing for a while, he made a judgment.

"The current Guy is still quite inferior to Kakashi. Their taijutsu is close, but Kakashi is almost a year younger than him after all. At this age, that makes a big difference. Moreover, Kakashi should also be training in kenjutsu (swordsmanship)..." Masahiko looked at the short sword Kakashi always carried on his back.

Nowadays, even Jonin battles were a bit boring in Masahiko's eyes, but he watched the fight between the two children with great interest.

"Go, hit him in the face, Guy!" Masahiko thought somewhat maliciously, wanting to see Kakashi with a bruised and swollen face... uh, maybe he couldn't see the bruises (due to the mask).

Then... as if Kakashi heard Masahiko's thoughts, he kicked Guy squarely in the side of the face. Guy flew out and crashed onto the ground.

Guy lay where he fell for a while, with no intention of getting up anytime soon. Kakashi panted a couple of times and lay down too.

"Kakashi, you won again this time," Guy said after a long while.

"Yeah." Kakashi narrowed his eyes. "Two to zero."

Masahiko smiled in the distance. "Only the second match? Kakashi is quite competitive."

Guy's competitiveness wasn't ordinary either. He immediately flipped up to stand. "Kakashi, let's have the third battle of youth!"

His legs were still trembling as he spoke.

Kakashi wasn't to be outdone and scrambled up.

Masahiko frowned. With their current stamina, they couldn't support another fight. He didn't want them to damage their foundations. Just as he wanted to step forward to stop them, the two exchanged a tacit look.

"Rock, Paper, Scissors!"

Masahiko's mouth twitched. He almost forgot about this part.

"Rock, Paper, Scissors!"

"Rock, Paper, Scissors!"

"I won, Kakashi!" Guy's happy shout came over.

Masahiko's heart stirred, and he walked over.

"Elder Masahiko!"

"Grandmaster!"

The way the two addressed Masahiko was inherited directly from their fathers.

"Watching you two competing with Rock, Paper, Scissors here... shall I teach you a new way to play? This way is more challenging..."

Hearing about a challenge, regardless of Kakashi's reaction, Guy immediately "rose to the challenge."

"Come, I'll teach you."

"Throw a punch with your left hand, throw a punch with your right hand, then both retract one punch together, and determine the winner with the remaining hand."

"There's also a chant: Left punch, right punch, we retract one punch together."

Watching the two children tentatively practice, Masahiko stepped back with satisfaction.

Suddenly, characters flashed before his eyes: *Witnessed and completely changed a Naruto world Side Story: Guy and Kakashi's Contest. Received 10 (10) Witness Points.

"Completely changed?" Masahiko looked pleasantly surprised, wondering what he had changed.

It wasn't until a long time later that he learned that ever since learning "Left punch, right punch," Guy never won at Rock, Paper, Scissors again.

After all, it originally relied on luck, but now it relied on IQ.

And IQ happened to be something Guy lacked a bit of...
