Chapter 96: Kinkaku and Ginkaku
"Kyūhai?" The Second Raikage murmured the name, a look of disdain on his face. "Kinkaku, Ginkaku, stop playing with that broken cannon of yours. This old man tampered with it."
"Really? A (Ei)! Old man, did you break our new toy?" Ginkaku shouted.
Masahiko smiled. "I didn't tamper with it. I built this cannon. It won't fire if the barrel is pointed at me. If you don't believe me, point it at the Raikage!"
"Really?" Ginkaku asked, while Kinkaku had already started turning the cannon barrel.
Masahiko smirked mischievously and signaled Tobirama with his eyes. The two used the Body Flicker Technique to leave their spots.
"Second Battalion Commander! Where's your Italian cannon?"
With a phrase no one understood, the Chakra Diffusion Cannon successfully activated. With a thunderous boom, chaos erupted on the Raikage's side.
"Kinkaku! Ginkaku! You two bastards!" The roar of the Second Raikage came from within the smoke and dust.
"Kinkaku! The cannon works!" Ginkaku looked excited.
"Works my ass! That old man played us!" Kinkaku was furious, waving his hand behind him. "Kill them!"
Masahiko smiled at Tobirama. "I leave the Raikage to you. Can you handle it?"
Tobirama nodded. "With that cannon shot just now, it shouldn't be a problem!"
"Then I'm going in! I'll finish them off and come help you!" Masahiko smiled. Sage Mode: Activate!
"The Fifth Gate should be enough. The Seventh Gate can't be maintained for long..." Masahiko murmured, rushing forward. "Sage Art: Dust Release: Detachment of the Primitive World Technique!"
"Earth Release: Earth-Style Wall!"
"Water Release: Water Encampment Wall!"
The twenty opposing ninjas simultaneously used multiple layers of defensive ninjutsu.
"You guys have clearly never faced a Dust Release user..." Masahiko chuckled softly, squinting his eyes slightly, not stopping his advance.
Sure enough, wherever the Dust Release passed, all defensive ninjas were annihilated. A blinding white light erupted, the entire earth trembled, and several screams rang out.
"Hm?" Masahiko frowned and looked up. Kinkaku and Ginkaku were attacking him from the left and right.
"Earth Release: Hardening Technique!" Masahiko hardened the skin on both arms and punched out simultaneously with both hands. With a slight collision, Kinkaku and Ginkaku flew backward dozens of meters, ploughing long furrows in the ground.
Masahiko was about to advance when he sensed a chakra fluctuation behind him. He dodged sideways as a beam of lightning flashed past. Seeing Masahiko dodge, the beam actually curved back.
"Storm Release (Ranton)?" Masahiko focused, forming a black Rasengan in his right hand. "Black Jade Rasengan!"
Pushed back a few meters by the shockwave, Masahiko frowned and looked back.
"The Second Raikage?" Glancing at Tobirama, who was only being entangled by a group of ninjas and B, Masahiko breathed a sigh of relief.
"Storm Release: Laser Circus!" The Second Raikage was still forming seals, but Masahiko was faster. A Tailed Beast Ball formed instantly in his mouth and was spat out.
The Second Raikage stopped forming seals and assumed a strange stance. When the Tailed Beast Ball reached him, it twisted and dissipated into nothingness.
"What the hell is that? Kamui?" Masahiko's mouth twitched. "It must be some weird Space-Time Ninjutsu. I didn't expect the Second Raikage to dabble in this area... Is this how he blocked my Dust Release before?"
"What are you!" The Second Raikage had just seen Masahiko spit a Tailed Beast Ball from his mouth with his own eyes.
Masahiko's face darkened. "Sixth Gate: Gate of View, OPEN!"
"Guess what I am!" The ground beneath Masahiko's feet shattered layer by layer as he instantly appeared beside the Raikage. "Let me see you defend against this Taijutsu!"
A kick landed squarely on the Raikage's right cheek, sending teeth flying into the air.
"Tobirama! Returning the Second Raikage to you!"
Tobirama turned his head just in time to see an unidentified object flying towards him at high speed. He quickly activated Hiraishin, and the impact sent the ninjas besieging him flying.
Masahiko was about to pursue when a wave of nausea hit him. "Why does high-speed movement in Taijutsu feel like motion sickness? Can I get dizzy?"
"Ugh..." Masahiko vomited a cloud of blue gas.
"Haha! Old man, you touched my Kōkinjō (Golden Canopy Rope)!" Kinkaku's arrogant laughter rang out.
Masahiko realized what happened. "I thought I was getting motion sick... scared me for a second. Word Seal!"
Masahiko formed seals and swallowed the blue gas back in one gulp...
Ginkaku, who was about to charge, slammed on the brakes. "K-Kinkaku! The old man ate the word soul back!"
"Kōkinjō!" Kinkaku shook his right hand, looking confused.
Masahiko smiled disdainfully. "When it comes to Fuinjutsu, I am your ancestor!"
"Sage Art: Dust Release: Detachment of the Primitive World Technique!"
"Kinkaku!"
"Ginkaku!"
The two brothers exchanged a glance. Instantly, they were cloaked in Tailed Beast Chakra. Six tails appeared, totaling twelve tails, which actually blocked Masahiko's Dust Release.
"They have some skill..." Masahiko chuckled. "Then try this! Sage Art: Dust Release: Detachment of the Primitive World Technique: Pillar!"
What Kinkaku and Ginkaku did next shocked Masahiko greatly. Their Tailed Beast cloaks slowly merged together, and the number of tails became nine, resembling a perfect Nine-Tails Jinchuriki.
Then, a massive Tailed Beast Ball rapidly formed in Kinkaku's mouth and collided with Masahiko's Dust Release.
The two attacks intersected and merged without a sound. In the center of the blinding light, everything was annihilated.
The battle on Tobirama's side also stopped as everyone looked over.
Masahiko released over a dozen Earth-Style Walls in succession and hid behind them, but was still knocked around.
"Damn it, these two brothers have this move? No wonder they could mutually destroy each other with Tobirama."
When everything calmed down, Masahiko pushed over the last earth wall in front of him and looked into the distance.
Kinkaku and Ginkaku were supporting each other. Their Tailed Beast cloaks were tattered, but they clearly had no injuries on their bodies.
"They completely withstood my strongest move?" Masahiko sighed. "I probably don't have enough chakra for two more shots, but looking at their state, one should be enough."
"Kinkaku, that old man is a bit too strong... Let's retreat," Ginkaku said.
Kinkaku was about to speak when Masahiko formed seals again, ready to release Dust Release, but then sighed and used Body Flicker to move away.
A jutsu combining Lightning and Water struck where Masahiko had just been standing. Masahiko frowned and looked over. "Kinkaku and Ginkaku's special unit? Two are still left..." Masahiko had thought the shockwave just now was enough to wipe them out.
"Ginkaku, retreat!" Kinkaku shouted quickly. Neither of them had much chakra left.
"Sage Art: Wind Release: Rasenshuriken!" Masahiko stopped conserving chakra. He fired two Rasenshurikens in succession. After two massive explosions on either side, everything returned to calm.
Looking at the two brothers fleeing rapidly in the distance, Masahiko chased after them quickly, gathering his remaining chakra. "Sage Art: Dust Release: Detachment of the Primitive World Technique: Pillar!"
Unable to release another Tailed Beast Ball, the two brothers were annihilated within the white crystal.
"Witnessed and completely changed a Naruto world Side Story: The Death of Kinkaku and Ginkaku. Received 5 (*10) Witness Points."
