Chapter 60 - Chapter 60: Want to speed up, right? Then don’t stop! Hehehe!

Although Gwen was curious about these new alien heroes, she knew it wasn't the time to study them closely, especially X Superman.

After all, the most troublesome aspect of X Superman in the original work was his multiple personalities... She certainly didn't want to get into an endless argument with X Superman's other two personalities now, only for it to drag on forever.

Her fingers quickly slid across the Omnitrix dial, bringing up the hidden settings menu.

After some manipulation, she found the X Superman icon and set it as a hidden option.

Gwen checked the random transformation list, and only after confirming that X Superman was not among them did she breathe a sigh of relief.

She stretched her shoulders, which were a little stiff from maintaining the same posture for a long time, and her gaze returned to Talon, who was tied to the restraint bed.

Just now, Gwen felt like she had been studying the Omnitrix for a long time, but in reality, less than 5 minutes had passed since the recalibration began.

Talon still lay there unconscious, motionless, without even a visible breath.

If not for the amber gold, which made the healing process visible to the naked eye, he might truly have been mistaken for a corpse.

Gwen silently activated the Omnitrix dial on her wrist and began to operate it manually.

The updated interface had some new elements, and the operating mode was also different from the previous old watch.

However, fortunately, Gwen still found the function she needed.

DNA repair.

Without hesitation, after clicking to use the function, Gwen aimed the watch at Talon.

A soft, pale purple light spilled out, enveloping Talon's body.

Within the light, Talon's body began to tremble violently, and a layer of material, thin yet rock-like, began to grow on him, encasing him completely.

Gwen watched all of this intently, and only when she saw this layer of material appear on his skin did she breathe a sigh of relief.

That's right, this is how DNA repair worked in the original story.

"Boom!"

With a crisp sound, the rock-like substance suddenly shattered, fragments scattering on the ground.

Startled by the sudden attack, Gwen instinctively raised her hand to block, and only after confirming that all the fragments had fallen to the ground did she lower her hand.

She leaned in to observe closely, and to her surprise, she found that Talon, who had previously had faint breathing and virtually no heartbeat, now had a clear rise and fall in his chest, and a distinct pulse could be felt in his carotid artery.

"It seems... it worked?" Gwen smiled, looking at Talon, who still hadn't woken up, "Then next is to wait for him..."

Just then, an earth-shattering crash suddenly came from the direction of the metal door, breaking the silence of the safe house.

"Thump! Thump! Thump!"

The dull thudding sound was like a heavy hammer striking Gwen's heart; she suddenly looked up, her eyes alert, towards the monitoring system beside her.

The default camera on the monitor screen was pointed at the street outside the safe house.

Of course, Gwen had secretly installed this camera.

Anyway, the Gotham Police Department couldn't distinguish which were surveillance cameras for road sections and which were cameras people installed themselves.

Outside, it was pitch black, a group of dark figures crouched like phantoms in various parts of the alley, their forms hidden in the darkness, with only the occasional glint of cold light betraying their presence.

And besides that, a gigantic figure was frantically slamming into the disguised wall outside the metal door.

The figure was as massive as a small mountain, crashing into it like the green giant from the studio next door, each impact causing bricks to tumble from the disguised wall.

This couldn't be helped, as for the disguise, this wall was built with solid bricks.

After all, the real protection against attack was the metal door inside.

And at this moment, the brick wall outside had already begun to show spiderweb-like cracks under the impact of the huge figure.

Immediately after, the big guy directly reached his hand into the crack, his arm veins bulging, muscles knotting, and pulled outwards with a mighty tug.

Amidst the sound of crumbling bricks, the outer disguised wall collapsed with a crash, revealing the metal door behind it.

Although this metal door from Wayne Tech was incredibly sturdy, Gwen knew that this thing was not an impenetrable barrier.

Gwen stared intently at the monitor screen, her pupils suddenly contracting.

Clearly, these Talons were well prepared!

After smashing open the disguised wall, the tall figure moved to the side, and another dark figure quickly approached.

Gwen observed that the newly arrived dark figure was holding a strange object in her hand.

The dark figure skillfully unfolded the object and neatly affixed it to the metal door.

Immediately after, she took out something, and pressed it.

Almost instantly, dazzling sparks erupted from the inside of the metal door, and the sizzling sound of high-temperature burning echoed within the safe house.

At this moment, Gwen finally realized what that familiar object was.

Isn't this a thermite patch?!

What, are Rainbow Six operators coming to kill me too?

Gwen did consider whether to stop it. But the thermite burned too quickly, and by the time she wanted to stop it, it was already too late.

Crimson flames spread along the metal door, reaching the edges in the blink of an eye.

When the thermite flames finally died down, after a brief silence, a deafening explosion roared.

The safe house shook violently, dust from the ceiling showered down like rain, the metal outer door was blasted open with a huge, twisted opening, and a scorching wave of air, carrying metal fragments, rushed forward.

Several Talons, with slightly different appearances but all wearing owl-style masks, rushed in through the opening like phantoms.

Leading the charge were slender and agile Talons, most of them female, with light postures, and their weapons were flexible short blades, more akin to daggers.

Following closely behind were some well-proportioned Talons, this group included both males and females, most of whom, like the Talon Gwen had tied up, used long-bladed weapons.

And the last one to walk in was, of course, the one who had been slamming the door earlier.

Gwen's assessment of him was simple.

With that physique, either the green giant from next door put on a Talon uniform and came to crash the party, or this was Bane.

In the Batman universe, only Bane could have such a large physique.

His muscles were bulging, and the veins on his body protruded like earthworms, as if he was about to "ascend" to a steroid Planet the next second; just his oppressive aura made it hard to breathe.

Thinking about it this way, it must be that the Talon she had captured had exceeded his mission time, so the Court had sent new Talons to solve the problem.

They must have found her through some kind of tracker placed on the Talon.

But the timing now was a bit awkward.

She suddenly remembered that repairing damaged DNA would consume a lot of the Omnitrix's energy.

Which meant she couldn't use the old watch at this moment.

But even as she thought this, Gwen's hand was faster than her brain, and she instinctively reached out to turn her dial.

"Click!"

A crisp sound came, and to Gwen's surprise, the dial actually popped up.

I love you, old watch!
