Alisa was silent for a moment. She didn't like Luo, at least not associating with a bad person. "A group of strange outsiders appeared at the West Street warehouse. They stole something from the Umbrella Corporation. Not only were they chased by Umbrella's people, but the tactical rescue team was also alerted."
"Stolen data?" Luo stroked his chin. His sixth sense told him there was something wrong. And a big problem at that. He should go and investigate.
"I don't know about that, but you can try to take a look. You're the boss here, after all." Alisa smiled, but it didn't feel particularly friendly.
Seeing Alisa's smile, Luo outwardly remained calm, but inwardly he was somewhat displeased. They had been cooperating for two years, and she still wouldn't accept him. Well, he wouldn't be so lenient; he'd have to resort to some underhanded methods.
"I'll go take a look." Luo said, then got up and left.
As he passed the bar, a hand groped the bartender's shapely buttocks. "Cindy, is your father feeling any better?"
Cindy was also a character from Resident Evil, just less fortunate.
Cindy's father was ill, and treatment in America was astronomical. Desperate, she sought help everywhere, and by chance met Luo. Luo generously lent her money and offered her a job at his bar to pay off the debt.
Five hundred thousand US dollars was an astronomical sum for most people; Cindy couldn't afford it and could only repay it slowly through work.
Facing Luo's taking advantage, Cindy turned a blind eye. Coupled with Luo's occasional concern and lack of real intent, she gradually got used to it. "My dad is much better now, thank you, boss."
"No need to thank me, it's just a transaction. Be careful, watch the bar for me, I'm going out for a bit." Luo laughed heartily; being a genuine scoundrel was much more appealing than a hypocrite.
Cindy's eyes held a complex expression. She didn't hate Luo; in fact, she felt some gratitude. But to say she loved him was utter nonsense. "I know what to do, boss."
Having received the intelligence, Luo got into his car and returned to the factory warehouse. He had barely arrived when a shooting broke out.
Boom! A loud explosion rocked the warehouse. This was no ordinary case; someone capable of such a scale was committing an extreme crime!
Luo drew his sidearm to provide support. Passing through a small alley, he saw two people rushing towards him. They wore strange clothes, resembling Japanese kimonos combined with medieval armor.
They hid behind a wall, took out a grenade, released the pin, waited a moment, and threw it.
"Watch out!"
Boom! Another explosion followed, killing the man in the kimono instantly. Only the man in armor survived, but he was badly injured, slammed against the wall by the shockwave.
Facing the grenade's power at close range, even with armor protection, the shockwave caused internal organs to shift.
Luo didn't rush over immediately. Instead, he drew his pistol, aimed at the armored man, and fired two shots into his open head, killing him before approaching. His survival in the underground gang's struggles relied on caution and ruthlessness.
Looking at the two men, one blown to death and the other shot dead, Luo observed that they seemed identical. But the next second, they vanished! Gone into thin air, leaving only two bracelets, seemingly ornaments worn on their arms!
Luo picked up the bracelet. The next second, a pleasant ringtone finally sounded, "Ding, system activation in progress, charging!"
Hearing this, Luo immediately picked up the other bracelet and quickly went to a corner of the nearby warehouse to wait for the system to charge. One bracelet wasn't enough; he needed another to complete the charging.
"Infinite System activated, initiating operation. Binding host, commencing operation."
"Host: Luo, Age: 20. Skills: Basic Shooting, Basic Combat. Identity: Raccoon City Patrolman."
"This system can be charged by plundering resources from infinite worlds and exchanged for items. The host can participate in reincarnation challenges, gaining points upon success."
"Is this a one-way infinite flow?" Luo asked somewhat doubtfully.
"After activating three reincarnation challenges, you can unlock the Pass to the Land of the Dying. Completing missions allows you to plunder world resources, and the host can manage this world as their main world."
"Sounds interesting. How do I gain points?" Luo stroked his chin. If he could strengthen himself, he could continue to survive in this dangerous world; otherwise, he'd become a zombie sooner or later." "Newbie Mission Activated: Kill the invading Reincarnators of this world. 3000 points awarded for eliminating all. If one escapes, one is deducted, mission fails, and the system is destroyed. Total number of participants: five. Current number remaining: two."
This mission caught him off guard, leaving him no time for complaints.
He drew his pistol and continued following the direction of the gunfire. Along the way, he saw the bodies of members of the Major Crimes Unit. This time, the Major Crimes Unit and the Special Operations Team were working together to apprehend the criminals; this seemed like a tough opponent.
Continuing forward, he noticed messy knife wounds, suggesting the victim had been hacked to death.
In the warehouse ahead, Chris and Jill were exchanging fire with a burly man in leather armor. On the other side, a man in a black trench coat was trying to escape but was being held back by the Major Crimes Unit members.
Luo entered the factory and saw only a wristwatch left behind. This meant there were five invading Reincarnators; he had already killed two. With another wristwatch here, only the two remaining at the back entrance remained! Picking up the watch, Luo continued forward, hiding behind a pillar. He saw a man in black not rushing out of the cordon, but instead charging back towards him, attempting to break through from the other side.
Bang! Just as the man in the trench coat reached the gate, another explosion rang out.
Boom! The shockwave sent the man in the trench coat flying into the air. He wasn't quite dead yet, enveloped in an eerie black mist.
Bang! The man in the trench coat collapsed to the ground, the black mist dissipating. Although not yet dead, he was severely injured and now panting heavily.
Bang! Luo drew his samurai blade and fired repeatedly, riddling the man in the trench coat with bullets. All ten bullets were used up, leaving three bullet holes in his forehead!
