Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: The Kidnap

It had been a long day running through the market trying to get some groceries with my son playing around. I grabbed him and pull him up then gently placing him to the floor.

"Now you be a good little boy and help mummy focus okay" I said as he nodded his tiny little head.

Oh my cute pup.

We wondered through the market and before we knew it it was getting dark.

"Damn, it's almost 7" I gasped as my son chuckled. "We need to start leaving" I smiled at him atleast we got the important things we needed to restock the house.

I walked down the street while I told my son different stories of how he would be a very strong wolf if he's focus and determined.

I was exhausted from today I won't lie but I just had to keep my face and hopes up atleast for the time my son was going to be around me.

We walked down to my porch and began fumbling with the door, struggling to get the damn thing open with one hand while trying to juggle a bag of groceries. My son, stood there just watching me, with his wooden toy in his hand, I mean what can he do to help me?

"Come on, come on!" I muttered, placing the key into the mouth of the door, shaking the knob with my shoulder.

While I did that, I felt something brush past me, something fast, something cool and something definitely not right.

I turned around quickly scanning through the yard but

Nothing.

No one was there.

I breathed a sigh of relief, pushing the door again.

And for the second time something brushed past me. This time I had this weird sensation creeping up the back of my neck, like something or rather someone was watching me.

Suddenly I freaked out hearing a soft buzz in my pocket.

"Oh it's my phone" I breathed heavily while my son chuckled, he had already sat at the porch waiting for me to get the door opened.

I looked at my phone wondering who would be calling me at this point and dang it, it was him…

You'd probably know him…

Kian. Of course, it was Kian. Who else would call now, right when I'm in the middle of this lovely mental breakdown?

His calls were always like an alarm ringing in the back of my mind. An annoying reminder that I wasn't completely alone, even if I wanted to be.

I finally got the door open. Just as I stepped inside, my son's little voice rose up behind me, his feet shuffling.

I barely had time to react before something or should I say someone grabbed him.

"MOMMY! MOMMY!" He screamed desperately…

I spun around, dropping my bag and groceries on the floor, I could barely breath watching the masked creature holding my son, it was dark and I couldn't quite identify what that was bur I know it wasn't human.

My son screamed with his tiny hands reaching for me, his face turned red and I could feel my soul leaving me.

"Kimal!" I shrieked, taking a step forward, only to have the figure move back, pulling my son out of reach.

And that was when I realized it was a pack of wolves…

"Wolves in an urban area?" I panicked

I tried to shift.

But nothing happened.

"What's wrong? Why can't I feel my wolf?" I panicked trying to shift again but still nothing.

My wolf was unreachable and I could feel fear rising in me because I was exposed. Helpless.

The figure grinned, dark eyes flashing with cruel amusement.

"Just make this easy for the both of us and surrender" one of groaned.

I shook my head, and moulded my hands into a fist, I was ready to fight as a human since I couldn't shift.

I lunged at him, grabbing for Kimal , my hands shaking. But he shoved me back, throwing me off balance.

"Let him go!" I shouted, trying to stay steady, trying not to collapse. I grabbed for the porch railing, digging my nails into the wood to keep myself from falling.

He growled, low and steady . "You think you're in control here, little wolf?"

"Shut up!" I spat, trying again to shift, but it was no use. I could feel something like invisible chains tightening around my wolf, suffocating her.

Whatever they had on them worked and it worked real good, I had nothing left but my own strength, and it wasn't enough.

I heard the rustle of the bush and then a deep growl. Another wolf stepped from the shadows, this time this one was larger and quite Familiar.

Kian's voice blared from my phone on the ground. "Aria? Aria, what's going on? can you hear me? Hello? Aria?!"

The wolf glanced down at the phone, stomping on it and then kicking it aside with a sneer.

I tried to move toward Kimal again, but the larger wolf grabbed my wrist, twisting it behind my back. I cried out in pain, but it was drowned out by Kimal's screams.

"Let him go!" I pleaded

"What do you want? I'll give you whatever you need just let us go!" I pleaded but yet nothing.

I tried screaming for help but I lived very far from town, I'm pretty sure even if I blew a trumpet no one might hear me.

I tried to save myself again digging my nails into the wolf's arm as I struggled to stay upright.

But with no strength from my wolf, I was nothing but a weak human trying to fight back.

The larger wolf gripped my arms tighter, pinning me in place. I couldn't even flinch anymore. I was helpless.

And then, before I could react, I was pushed to the ground with force hitting my head against the floor, my vision became blurry and the whole world began to feel silent, the only voice I could hear was my son's screaming and before I blacked out.
