Caleb's POV
"What the hell did you just say?" Jessica demanded, shooting to her feet like lightning.
I remained seated, watching her with calculated interest, my chin propped against my knuckles.
She was absolutely furious, her face flushing crimson with rage. Her eyes blazed with fire, her jaw locked tight enough to crack teeth. She looked like she wanted to tear someone apart.
How fascinating.
"You heard every word," I responded, keeping my tone deliberately even.
"Where exactly did you encounter her?" she demanded, her hands balling into fists at her sides, her breathing becoming erratic.
"On the rooftop. I stepped out for a smoke and found her there."
"So you were completely alone together?"
"That's correct."
She started to speak but snapped her mouth shut, every negative emotion imaginable flashing across her features.
"What exactly is so terrible about being alone with Bonita?" I asked, purely because I wanted to push her buttons.
