Sleep had become a stranger to me over the past month. My body screamed for rest, but my mind refused to surrender. If I were human, exhaustion would have claimed me weeks ago. But I wasn't human, and I would push this vessel until it shattered if necessary.
Paisley had provided me with a list of suspected traitors within the company. The names matched my own suspicions perfectly. Today, I would pay these bastards a personal visit.
I left my office carrying nothing but a small recording device hidden beneath my jacket. The fourth floor would be my first stop. If luck favored me, I wouldn't need to interrogate the others.
The elevator doors opened to reveal the usual chaos of corporate life. Employees bustled between cubicles, phones rang incessantly, and the smell of stale coffee permeated the air. But something felt different. Eyes tracked my movement across the floor like predators watching prey.
