Garcia' POV
Herbert's voice crackles through the mind link, cutting through my concentration during the formal lunch. "Captain, we secured the evidence. Damn it, sorry. I meant Your Highness."
I bite back a smile at his slip. Even after weeks of preparation, my team still struggles with royal protocol.
"Excellent work. Review everything after this meal concludes. We have barely scratched the surface with the Guardians Ceremony discussion. My own ceremony will demand considerably more time, so use this window wisely. I need the most damning evidence in my hands before we proceed." I respond through our mental connection.
My gaze sweeps across the Throne room as conversations flow around elaborate lunch settings. Most Elder families appear comfortable, almost smugly so. Their relaxed demeanor speaks volumes about their confidence in maintaining control.
