Alex drove the bike to the Rock City temple, which was very crowded. However, the temple was big, and it had a playground on its campus which could accommodate a few million people, so the crowd was managed easily.
Alex remembered from his acquired memories that though Monica was bossy, but has always been with him since they were both from the same orphanage. So he did not mind her behaviour that much and had become used to it.
There were many groups and sections among the crowd. Some were the university students who had just turned eighteen and had the maximum chance to acquire a blessing. Some were the middle age people and then the elderly. Even though the with a higher age the probability of being blessed by a deity is reduced, but nobody loses hope since even if someone is blessed in their old age their fortune changes, and their life span increases.
Alex and Monica entered the temple and went to the student's section, where the Rock City University students had gathered.
Luke, one of the students from their class, said with contempt "See who has come for the awakening "The loser" himself." The whole group burst into laughter at his joke.
Luke was one of those young masters of the class and the leader of his group, as everyone listened to him. All his friends were from the affluent families. Since both Alex and Monica were the transferred students and were relatively from a poor background, since both had an upbringing from an orphanage so Luke despised them and did not want them to mix with their group.
Monica was resentful since she always wanted to be rich and wanted to be a part of the elite group however, due to her background, which she hated, she could not be accepted into the elite group.
Alex deduced all the information from his memories about his classmates and understood the situation. The previous owner of this body would have argued back and given a reaction which they wanted to see however, he had a different personality and was indifferent towards their remark. He went and stood at the end of the group.
Seeing the calm demeanor of Alex Monica was surprised and stood with him at the back.
Luke and his friends were naturally disappointed since Alex did not give the desired reaction to their verbal jibe. They were expecting a good drama, but nothing happened. Luke was annoyed since Alex dared to ignore him in such a manner as if he did not exist.
However, he could not say much since the school instructors were nearby, and also the awakening was about to start, so he would teach a lesson to the idiot at a later time.
Apart from the few hundred students from the different schools of the Rock City. There were a few hundred thousand people gathered in the temple grounds. Just to receive the blessings of the gods for this year, with the hope of awakening their cultivation talent. But only a few handful of people get awakened every year.
Just then, the priest of the temple announced, "People the time for the descent of the Azure God has come. Start praying and chanting the Azure God mantra."
With the direction of the priest, the crowd started chanting in unison, and for fifteen minutes the chanting continued, and the bell kept on ringing. Then a massive figure descended from the sky. The figure was massive, however it was see through as if it was only a projection. It was a majestic figure that came to a halt above the temple.
The temple was surrounded by people from all sides and was in the middle of the grounds however, at this point, whoever looked at the image of the god felt as if the Azure God was looking at them and was influencing their very soul.
The Azure God then sent off a magnificent burst of light, turning the entire area white. Nobody could see anything for a short while. The Azure God vanished as the intense light faded and the scene returned to normal.
Someone shouted from the crowd "I got blessed by the Azure God and developed a Grade one Spiritual Root. Thankyou Azure God."
Another person said "Hey! It seems I got blessed by a Special Body Physique." and he started running with happiness.
When a person is blessed by a god he is blessed with different grades of Spiritual roots. Grade one is the lowest and Grade nine is the highest. Only after a person acquires this spiritual root the individual becomes capable of walking the holy path of cultivation.
If someone is lucky enough then they get blessed with special physique which helps them with cultivation and upgrade through levels faster.
A growing number of people were receiving blessings from the Gods and were blessed with spiritual roots and unique physical bodies. The individuals who had been fortunate were ecstatic since, on this day, their fortunes had transformed, they would become members of the elite class, and their families would get a wealth of resources and care from the city government. The percentage of which was only one percent out of those lakhs of people.
However maximum number of people were not blessed and were dejected since the little hope was lost and could only look forward to the next year's awakening ceremony.
Amidst the commotion among the crowds the group of the university students were also very excited because at their age they had the maximum chances of getting blessed by the spiritual roots since these were the students who were picked up by the university who had the maximum chances of getting blessed.
The instructor who accompanied them asked about their respective spiritual grades.
Luke said excitedly "I have got a grade three spiritual root."
There were numerous exclamations among the students.
Grade three Spiritual root was one of the highest grade spiritual roots which was acquired here in the Black Rock university.
The instructor congratulated Luke on his successfull onboarding of the cultivation path. Since from now onwards he was officially capable of walking the cultivation road and become stronger.
Henry who is Luke's friend said "Congratulations Luke!"
