Screech—
The intense friction between his shoes and the ground allowed Lex to brake in time, then he leaped back, putting distance between himself and Meyers.
Almost simultaneously, Lex saw several streaks of dark light flash before his eyes. Those nearly black rays of light came from Meyers' upward-swinging arm, from his mutated palm, and from his elongated, metallic-glowing fingernails!
Lex was no stranger to such fingernails; he had seen them on the 'princess' Maggie a few days ago, and she was a Sequence 7 Werewolf.
Could Meyers be one too? But didn't Cromwell say he was a 'Criminal'?
Lex suddenly looked at the bandage on Meyers' arm. His intuition told him that Meyers' current state had something to do with that bandage.
"Did you think I was just hiding, doing nothing?"
Meyers' other hand also mutated. He pounced like a cannonball, creating a whistling, oppressive wind in the small warehouse.
"To prevent 'Executioners' like you from appearing, I've been preparing, I've been collecting mystical items!"
He launched a frantic and fierce attack. His two claws tore out streaks of dark light in the warehouse, completely putting Lex at a disadvantage, forcing him to passively dodge.
But after observing for a moment, Lex found that although Meyers had gained the abilities of a Werewolf with the help of that bandage, his abilities were not complete. His speed was far inferior to Maggie's; only the strength he displayed and his two claws possessed the characteristics of a Werewolf.
Ducking to avoid Meyers' sweeping claws, Lex took the opportunity to widen the distance, reaching into his trench coat with his left hand to pull out a golden revolver, pointing it at Meyers.
Meyers immediately made several feints, tricking Lex into firing a shot into the air. He seized the chance to close in, sweeping a claw across the golden revolver. Sparks flew from the revolver as Lex lost his grip, and the revolver flew out of his hand.
"You're dead..."
Meyers was about to declare victory when he took a punch to the face.
Lex's iron fist imprinted on his cheek, distorting his features.
Lex was wearing the 'Shadow Gauntlets' on his right hand. At this moment, during the series of evasive maneuvers, he had positioned himself next to a shelf in the warehouse.
The light didn't reach here; shadows enveloped this spot!
Immediately, the symbol on the gauntlet lit up, and the surrounding shadows boiled. Fists condensed from shadow rained down on Meyers' face and body, one after another. The dense barrage of blows prevented him from even groaning, lifting him off his feet.
Lex took the opportunity to pull out 'blood praise', injecting his spirituality. He raised the revolver, pointing it at Meyers' head.
Just then, the 'Shadow Combo' ended. Meyers let out a loud cry, grabbing the muzzle with his left hand and pushing it upwards.
Bang!
A gunshot echoed in the warehouse. Meyers screamed, his palm a bloody mess, but the shot aimed at his head ultimately hit the ceiling.
Meyers fell to the ground, rolling rapidly, constantly throwing everything he could touch at Lex.
When he adjusted his posture and half-crouched on the ground, he roared. Lex saw that the bandage wrapped around his arm seemed to tighten, and the animal fur on it grew rapidly, spreading to cover Meyers' body.
Meyers' body swelled, and he seemed to put on a fur coat. In the blink of an eye, he transformed into a half-human, half-wolf monster.
His oppressive aura intensified again, and the look in his eyes was wild, as if he had lost some of his sanity.
He suddenly leaped onto the ceiling, surprisingly able to crawl on it, approaching Lex.
By the time Lex raised his arm, intending to shoot, he had already dropped to the ground a step ahead, moving much faster than before!
Meyers raised his even more exaggerated claws, about to sweep at Lex. Just then, a voice from the warehouse window commanded with great authority: "Stop!"
Meyers' movements stiffened slightly, then he swung down, but Lex had already taken the opportunity to get away. The shelf behind him took his place, being shattered by Meyers' claw.
"What's going on?" Cromwell looked at Meyers, who had nearly grown a size larger and transformed into a half-human, half-wolf, somewhat disbelieving his eyes.
"Hold him for three seconds."
Lex reached into his pocket, feeling a rectangular thin piece—that was the 'Sleeping' Charms, his last sleeping Charms!
Meyers exhaled a fishy smell (fishy smell) breath from his mouth, looking at Cromwell: "I remember you, you're that Arbiter. Your fiancée was a beauty, and even after she turned into chocolate, she tasted quite good!"
Flames immediately burned in Cromwell's eyes. He raised his arm, attacking with his revolver.
Gunshots rang out, but they didn't hit Meyers. He would jump onto the ceiling, crawl on the vertical walls, then drop behind a shelf.
During this time,
He also shouted: "You're not an Executioner, who are you! Damn it, how dare you trick me!"
After Cromwell emptied the bullets from his revolver, Meyers lunged out, but Lex had already thrown the activated Charms, allowing the power of sleep to spread around Meyers.
The Werewolf's eyelids felt as heavy as a thousand pounds. He stopped, about to fall into a deep sleep.
Lex immediately raised 'blood praise', intending to blow his head off. Meyers in this state was too dangerous; if he couldn't be captured alive, he could only be killed.
But just then, the Werewolf, on the verge of sleep, suddenly raised his injured left hand. He opened his mouth and bit down hard on his own hand, drawing blood and letting out a scream.
Using the pain, Meyers dispelled his drowsiness and then lunged towards the window.
He was finally going to escape this place, no longer trying to kill Lex.
Lex had already set traps in the back alley, but now, he didn't want Meyers to get away. With Meyers' current size and strength, the traps Lex had set wouldn't hold him!
Bang, bang, bang!
Blood Praise continuously fired bullets, making Meyers change direction, falling deeper into the warehouse. He then grabbed a shelf, used it as a shield, and pushed it towards the window.
"My judgment is: Stop!"
Cromwell commanded with authority again, but this time, Meyers was affected very little. He pushed the shelf directly into the Arbiter.
The grey-green eyed Arbiter could only roll to the side. Meyers then raised his arm, taking a shot from Lex head-on, then crashed into the window with his whole body.
With a crisp crash, glass shattered, and the Werewolf had broken through the window. He landed on the ground, breathing in the slightly sweet night air.
In the warehouse, Lex pursued, pulling out a tin box.
Meyers made a crouching motion; he intended to use the Werewolf's astonishing strength to leap onto the rooftop in one go and escape.
He jumped.
But he didn't leap onto the rooftop as he expected.
He didn't even jump to the height of the first floor.
He felt his Werewolf's mystic abilities rapidly disappearing. He fell back to the ground; he had only made a standing jump less than two meters high!
