Chapter 93: Konan – That Lowly Thing Can Become Akatsuki's Toy

Swish, swish!

Omoi and Karui immediately drew the swords from their backs, blades at the ready.

They had also noticed the strange movement in the sky. Whoever was coming down was clearly aiming straight at the three of them.

"What do we do, what do we do… The enemy can fly, how are we supposed to fight that? If we lose… we'll probably get captured, maybe even killed. No way, I don't want to die yet…"

Omoi clenched his lollipop between his teeth, spiraling into extreme anxiety and panic.

Samui gripped her short blade in one hand, eyes narrowed as she tried her best to see the face of the person descending from the sky.

Backlit by the sun, she couldn't make it out at first.

Then her vision blurred for an instant—whoever it was suddenly spread a pair of wings and glided down from above, landing steadily on the ground.

"Akatsuki… 'White Tiger'!!"

Samui's guard shot to maximum. She raised the short blade across her chest, eyes locked firmly on the figure standing ten meters away.

Purple-blue hair, the signature Akatsuki cloak, and that unique flying Paper Release.

She recognized Konan's identity in an instant.

Her mind raced, searching for a viable response.

White Tiger was, without question, a true Kage-level powerhouse. The three of them stood no chance.

Kage-level…

Samui's heart gave a sudden jolt.

The one who killed Watanabe's team had also been a Kage-level enemy. Could the killer be White Tiger?

On the other side, Alex was also sizing Samui up.

Almost the moment he landed, his gaze was drawn to her.

She really had too much "presence" in one particular area—his eyes couldn't help drifting there.

Especially when Samui tensed in readiness, her chest bounced with each tiny movement.

Duang Duang Duang…

This was the only "weapon" in the ninja world that could rival Tsunade's monstrous pair.

And she was wearing such a generous low-cut outfit, exposing most of it. There was no way to not sneak a few more glances…

Alex genuinely couldn't understand how a village like the Village Hidden in the Clouds, famous for all its dark-skinned shinobi, had produced someone with skin as fair as Samui's.

Silence fell over the battlefield, the air growing heavier and more oppressive by the second.

Hot-tempered as ever, Karui couldn't stand it anymore. She shouted angrily,

"Akatsuki! You still dare show your faces to us Cloud ninja after ambushing Lord Killer B last time? We haven't even settled that score with you yet!"

Next to her, Omoi gripped his sword tightly. His usual gloom and panic were gone—his eyes now burned with anger as he glared at Konan.

The two of them were disciples of Killer B and held deep respect for their teacher.

For Akatsuki to ambush their teacher and covet the Eight-Tails was basically the same as trampling all over the Village Hidden in the Clouds.

If not for their teacher severing the tail at the critical moment to escape, he really might have been captured by Akatsuki and died in their hands.

(Thanks to Konan's interference, Kisame hadn't even set out to capture Killer B yet. The two had never fought, and there had been no beheading, no act of hiding inside Samehada and being carried back to the Cloud by Killer B.)

Not long ago, after finishing his treatment in a small village, Killer B hadn't even decided where to wander off to next before his big brother found him first, beat him half to death, and dragged him back home.

Alex finally tore his gaze away and looked at the one who had shouted—Karui.

Dark skin and bright red hair. He did remember her.

If he recalled correctly, she later married Akimichi Chōji and had a daughter.

Then he glanced at Omoi. Another side character with some screentime, even appearing in the Boruto era.

His already severe anxiety, if memory served, eventually evolved into full-on schizophrenia…

Alex withdrew his gaze, losing interest.

They just weren't as nice to look at as Samui.

"B*stard!! Was it you? Were you the one who killed the three comrades from our village right here?!"

Karui had clearly thought of the same possibility, her eyes blazing with killing intent as she glared at Konan.

"Our Village Hidden in the Clouds will never let anyone who kills—"

"Karui!! Don't—"

Samui's face changed sharply. She tried to cut off Karui's reckless outburst.

When you were clearly outmatched, provoking the enemy was the last thing you wanted to do.

Unfortunately, she was already too late.

Without anyone noticing when it had happened, sheets of white paper had appeared around Karui's feet.

None of the three had seen how the papers materialized.

Karui didn't even have time to react or dodge. In the blink of an eye, she was wrapped up into a white paper mummy.

A cold gleam flashed.

In a single swish, the paper shell froze solid, turning into a block of ice.

The furious shout she'd meant to unleash cut off instantly.

"Karui! Ka—"

Beside her, Omoi turned his head on instinct to look at his teammate and froze, eyes widening.

Before horror could even show fully on his face, he met the same fate as Karui.

He became a block of ice roughly the same size, standing rigidly on the ground.

"Karui!! Omoi!!"

Seeing her two teammates' life and death unknown, Samui could no longer maintain her usual calm, cool demeanor.

She was beyond furious, gripping her short blade so tightly her knuckles turned white as she prepared to charge at Konan.

"White Tiger!!!"

The enemy had made the first move. All the contingency plans she had just been devising were now completely meaningless.

Even if she knew she couldn't win, she would still fight. She would never abandon her comrades and run.

But that resolve didn't change reality.

Good intentions were one thing; strength was another.

An elite jōnin like her had no chance of resisting Konan.

Samui didn't even make it into a full charge. She couldn't move so much as a single step.

Sheets of white paper had already climbed up and wrapped tightly around her legs, still creeping upward, clearly intending to make her end up exactly like her two teammates.

When the paper layers reached Samui's abdomen and were about to climb higher, Konan suddenly halted the technique.

Expressionless, she stared at that violently trembling pair of snowy peaks.

Even someone as cool and aloof as her couldn't help being stunned by such a "view."

She honestly had no idea how something like that could even grow, or how it could get that big.

Still… as a plaything for Alex, it seemed more than qualified.

Konan made her decision on the spot.

Her original intention had been to interrogate them for information and then immediately execute these shinobi from one of the great villages.

She had no goodwill toward the Five Great Ninja Villages or the shinobi who kept waging wars.

If anything, she was hostile to them.

But now, she'd changed her mind.

Killing this woman right away would be a waste. Better to make this ridiculously well-endowed kunoichi into Alex's toy.

If she died from being played with… so what?

As long as it made Alex happy, that was what mattered.

[Konan, w-what's wrong?]

Alex drifted up in front of her, feeling that the way Konan was looking at him right now was very odd.

It was like she was plotting something… weird.

Konan gave a tiny shake of her head and said nothing.

Inwardly, her resolve only hardened.

For Akatsuki's happiness, she would do anything.

Not just this woman. In the future, if she ran into any other "qualified" ones, she'd capture them too.

Play one to death, then bring in the next.

Everything was secondary to making Akatsuki happy.

If Alex ever found out what was going on in her head right now, he would definitely scream, What the f*ck?!

Konan, aren't you afraid I'll completely fall into the depths of evil…

Gagagaga… Hehehe…

"White Tiger!! If you've got the guts, then kill me! If you dare lay hands on us Cloud ninja, Lord Raikage will never let you go!"

Samui's roar was full of defiance.

Konan's gaze made her incredibly uncomfortable. It felt like ants were crawling over her chest.

A bad premonition rose in her gut.

If she fell into this woman's hands, she had the vague sense that many outrageous things would happen.
