"Alright, enough pretending I know what you've been up to with that boy." Standing beside her sister with a bucket in hand, Charlotte glared down at Freya's hunched form as she pulled another bucket out of the river. "You really should start explaining yourself now."
Still of mind and body, Freya set aside the bucket and looked at Charlotte through her reflection in the clear water. Her secret had been out for a while, and ignoring it any longer served nobody, not even her. As for the shame she would've felt from confirming Charlotte's doubts, it was easily overshadowed by what the two had run into last night inside that tent.
"I didn't…" Pursing her lips as words escaped her, Freya shook her head and limply lifted herself. "It just happened, I was weak for a moment and the next thing I knew–well, I don't know what else to say."
