No one on Lutum can tell you when exactly Earth advanced to galactic travel, but the old folks talk about a star exploding which resulted in debris of energy that shaped life itself. Allowing mankind the intelligence to reach beyond our galaxy.
With this discovery came the realisation that humans were no longer top of the food chain.
Planet Paradisus compared to Earth is like comparing a lodge to a refugee camp. Paradisus radius was almost twice as large, its surface gravity one-and-a-half times stronger. The average person weighs 62 kg(136.7 pounds). On Paradisus it was 93 Kg(205.03 pounds). The escape velocity needed was 19 kilometres per second.
The sun dwarfed the one on Earth. 5x its mass, reaching 200x brighter. The sun wasn't yellow. It was white-violet, fierce and cold, painting the sky in pale Amethyst light. A beauty with lethal radiation that would perish life if its atmosphere couldn't withstand its UV intensity.
The inhabitants of Paradisus were vast races from neighbouring planets. The list of races united on Paradisus was as follows:
1)Virelians-Children of the sun.
Appearance:skin glows white-blue to violet, eyes like molten ultraviolet, iridescent markings.
2) Thalassia-Aquatic race
Appearance:human-like with gills, webbed fingers/toes, and fins on limbs for mobility.
3) Kurogami- Sword warriors.
Appearance: Grey-skinned, lean and disciplined. Stoic beings reminiscent of warriors known as samurai?
4) Ardyn-Amazonian apex predators.
Appearance: giant, Grey-skinned, women skilled with spears forged by bone and adaptive genetics that exceed scientific understanding.
5)Zyrean- Purple-skinned, intellectual race.
Appearance: smooth purple skin, large luminescent eyes, elongated fingers and the average Zyrean reaching 182,88 cm(6 feet).
And the last of the union of races is humans. Due to 'genetic disadvantages' the human race has been divided into 4 sectors of service at Paradisus. Public service, medical wards, entertainment and space defence.
Of all the sectors, Space defence is the most lucrative career and has the highest fatality rates. A double edged Sword most recruits are willing to take to escape Lutum.
