THE GIRLS HANG OUT
Elena's POV
Lunch break was over, but the afternoon classes got canceled because the teacher was absent. Good for me — I wasn't in the mood anyway.
I hopped into my Ferrari with Jaiz , while Mike drove off in his car. After dropping Jaiz at her place, I reached home and went straight to my room to freshen up.
As soon as I stepped out of the shower, Amelia barged in, all excited.
"So? How was your first day of high school?" she asked, eyes wide like she was waiting for gossip.
"Nothing special. Actually… it was terrible," I muttered, rolling my eyes — thanks to that guy Adrian.
Of course, I didn't mention him. If I did, Amelia would tell Mom, and then Mom would turn it into an interrogation. So, I just told her to leave my room. My mood was already bad enough.
When she finally left, I lay on my bed, scrolling through Instagram. Suddenly, a new follow request popped up — from an unknown account. The profile picture was an electric guitar, no posts, only quote highlights.
Great, I thought. Another random person with a crush on me.
I ignored it and kept scrolling… until my eyelids got heavy and I fell asleep without realizing.
The next thing I heard was Jaiz's loud voice calling my name from downstairs.
"Elena! Are you ready yet?"
I groaned, dragging myself out of bed. It was already 7 p.m.
When I went downstairs, Jaiz was standing there, hands on hips.
"Don't tell me you forgot! We planned to go shopping, remember?"
"Oh, damn…" I mumbled. "Give me ten minutes."
I rushed upstairs, threw on a stylish outfit, and looked at myself in the mirror.
"Huh.. I always look perfect," I said, smirking at my reflection.
Soon we were at the mall — shopping, laughing, clicking pictures, even posing at the photo booth. My morning frustration started melting away.
Then, of course, came Jaiz's wild idea — the club.
We agreed. And we went.
The music was loud, lights flashing, drinks flowing. Everyone was dancing like there was no tomorrow. I joined in — Jaiz already had too many shots, barely able to stand straight. I could feel the alcohol too, but not as much.
Realizing Jaiz was too drunk, I called Mike.
"Hey, we're at the club. Come and pick jaiz up she's fully drunk ."
Fifteen minutes later, he arrived, shaking his head.
"Elena, you can't drive right now. You're tipsy, and your car's full of shopping bags. I'll drop Jaiz home first, then come back for you. Just stay here, okay?"
I nodded. "Fine."
He left, half-carrying Jaiz.
And then… it hit me. That morning. That embarrassment. That guy.
I exhaled sharply and ordered another shot.
Then another.
The bartender didn't question it. He just poured.
After a while, everything started spinning. My head felt heavy, my vision blurry.
Someone — a guy — came up beside me. "Hey," he said softly, trying to start a conversation.
I didn't reply. My head was pounding.
And then, the lights dimmed.
The sounds faded.
Everything around me went dark.
