Idalia froze, watching him and hoping that by some miracle, he hadn't seen her.
That by some miracle, the scent illusion injection she had been given would fail right now.
He stayed still with a frown on his face, the right sleeve of his white shirt, rolled up to his elbow, while he jammed a needle into his skin with his other hand.
He kept his gaze straight ahead, without looking at what he was doing.

Idalia blinked. Even breathing felt too loud, and she was starting to be afraid, now more than ever, that Arik would cry. He was beginning to move more to communicate his discomfort. She looked down subconsciously at Arik.
She heard a crash and looked up instinctively.
He was gone.
Panic flooded her veins, and she looked around rapidly, to check if she had evenbeen caught.
But he was nowhere around her.

He hadn't seen her.
She could escape now.
