A peaceful atmosphere hung in the air above the institution that spanned the entire island. High-rise sophisticated buildings and facilities decorated its surface, making it look like an entire city on its own.
[Class 1-E]
"Morning class."
Silence blanketed the bustling class of new students as a stunning female teacher entered, her eyes cold and calculating. She seemed like a lady in her late twenties, with a figure and presence that made her the type of teacher boys would secretly fantasize about.
"Welcome to Pegasus Will once again, I'll be your class teacher for your entire stay in this institution."
The teacher said with a cold smile on her face, sending shivers through some cadets.
"The name is Rina Gills and you can call me Instructor Rina. Aside from the general information shared during the opening ceremony, there are some important things you should implant in your consciousness. Here in this academy, there are a few ground rules that are never meant to be broken. The first rule is killing of fellow colleagues. This act is especially looked down upon by the Academy. Any case discovered will be dealt with by a death sentence. Even your family will face the repercussions."
The students gulped, tensed at the undoubtedly strict manner of the school's discipline.
"Secondly, you are prohibited from removing your limiters without approval from school authority."
She continued, gesturing at the tight bracelet locked on the right hand of all the students. Its surface was etched with golden runes that pulsed in a synchronized rhythm.
"Thirdly, the act of partaking in unauthorized duels. As a precaution against bullying and any sort of unwarranted violence, any student caught involved in an unauthorized fight will be expelled. Fraud, scamming, or using position of power will also be dealt with by a suspension for three months—essentially a whole semester."
Looking at the class, she leaned forward slightly, her chest weight unintentionally enlarging, and spoke in a heavy tone. "Any questions?"
Although intimidated, a silver haired boy stood up and spoke to her brashly.
"Hey! But what if—"
Suddenly, he froze. For the first time in a few months, he felt fear which was shared by majority of the class. Rina Gills was practically glaring at him. Although it was a mundane act, the pressure behind such act was heavy.
"Sit." Instructor Rina said... no, commanded.
He sat, cold sweat rolling down his spine.
"Now raise your hand like a civilized human and ask your question politely."
Gulping, the boy hesitantly raised his hand and croaked out his question.
"What if we were forced into an argument or fight. Can't we beat them up?"
"Hmm." Nodding slightly, she answered. " Engaging in unwarranted fights results in expulsion. Understood?"
"But we can't just—"
"Un-der-stood?"
"Yes, ma'am."
Gazing at the students with a softer look, she calmly tapped her marker on the podium.
"Well then, you should begin with your introductions." She said, pointing at the boy on the first seat.
"Morning. Uh, my name is, uh, Chris Donald, and I want to be uh, a powerful mage in the future." The boy who had a chubby body with black hair and black eyes, stood up and introduced himself awkwardly. The class' reaction was mild, it was natural to be nervous after all.
Next to him was a girl with dark purple hair and sharp black eyes with long polished nails. She was radiating an atmosphere that screamed 'Ice Queen'.
"Mordica Nerth."
Her curt, icy tone earned a few scowls, but she only inspected her nails, unconcerned.
'Straightforward. I like that.'
Instructor Rina chuckled inwardly, paying more attention to the few special students in her class.
The next student, a guy with dark brown hair and brown eyes stood confidently as he introduced himself.
"I'm Liam Bright. I love to get along with people and my best sports are football, baseball and swimming. Since we'll be together for the next three years, I'll be happy to befriend anyone who is willing."
By the time he was done introducing himself, a lot of girls were already looking at him with eyes full of approval. His handsome looks and good attitude made him approachable.
Next was a girl with blonde hair and green eyes with a body that attracted most males.
"Good morning guys. My name's Isabella Wayne. I have a hobby of writing novels and I hope to get along with everyone in the school. Let's enjoy our stay in this school together."
With her angelic smile and cute face, she easily captured the hearts of her classmates, male and female alike.
"Ahem!"
Realizing it was his turn, the silver haired boy with red eyes cleared his throat, then spoke.
"Although it's childish to introduce myself like kindergarten kids, since the teacher requested for it, I'll do. I'm Logan Fang. I love baseball in middle school and I'll be sure to pursue it as a side job after I become a Nirad Hunter."
His introduction was simple, but his looks and mannerism gave people the impression he was a 'delinquent'.
Beside him, another boy with sleek black hair and average looks happily sprung up.
"My name is Jose Maverick. I hate handsome boys and love cute girls. If you're interested, applications for my harem are open. My ultimate goal is to become a Harem Master."
His introduction earned a few peals of laughter from the girls who looked at him like a joke.
Next was a young man with long curly blonde hair tied into a bun. His legs were crossed on the table while his face expressed a look of absolute confidence.
"The name is Sebastian Hemsworth. The sole heir to the Hems Technology Worldwide. You might want to keep that grilled into your skulls." He paused, seemingly raising the tension in the air. "Do note, I despise anything that displeases me and would punish anyone I deem unpleasant."
His veiled threat earned scowls; in their minds, he was already branded a narcissistic weirdo. Unfazed, Sebastian simply took a mirror and began admiring his own looks.
The introduction continued until it reached a particular student, a strikingly beautiful girl with long black hair and hazel colored eyes.
The air cooled slightly as she spoke.
"Hazel Kane."
Just that. No bravado. No friendliness.
But something about it made the class fall silent. Soon enough, they realized. Her surname. Kane. That was the name of the Pegasus Empire's War General.
Could it be... she was his daughter?!
