Chapter 202 - Macragge

This old scoundrel.

Alexander looked at the old Farseer Eldrad Ulthran, his expression twitching slightly.

As expected of the most infamous Eldar Farseer.

Alexander looked at his aged face and gently reached up to press down on the baseball cap on his head.

The cap-shaped item made Alexander's mind much clearer, and at the same time, the Portable Pyramid beneath the cap emitted an imperceptible glow, strengthening Alexander's brain.

Then Alexander glanced at Greyfax, signaling her to step forward.

"Xenos."

Greyfax's voice was filled with loathing:

"I warn my colleagues: you are untrustworthy, blasphemous filth, a bunch of arrogant peacocks and fallen daemons."

"You are not to be trusted. Death, and your souls falling into the curse of the Dark Gods, is your deserved end."

"But your honeyed words deceived us, making us believe you came for cooperation and negotiation."

"And what did we get? An Assassin? A Harlequin?"

Greyfax's finger pointed at Sylandri Shadowseer, who was tied to the ground.

Sylandri Shadowseer raised her head slightly.

"Hi," she greeted Eldrad Ulthran and Yvraine in a cheerful tone.

The expressions of the two Eldar Death Guard leaders twitched slightly.

They clearly hadn't expected Sylandri Shadowseer to have been captured by the Human Expeditionary Force.

"I know you hate us, and you have every reason to do so."

Eldrad Ulthran quickly composed himself:

"After the birth of the Thirsting God, many of my kin fell. They forgot their past glory and became raiders, pirates, and sadists."

"They made many mistakes, straining the relationship between our two races."

"But just as your million worlds have a million different civilizations, as a shattered and displaced people, we also have different cultures and beliefs within us."

"For example, Sylandri Shadowseer worships the Laughing God Cegorach, while Lady Yvraine beside me is a chosen of Ynnead, the God of Death."

At this point, Eldrad Ulthran extended his hand and pointed at Sylandri Shadowseer, who was sprawled on the ground.

"It must have been Cegorach who ordered her to do it!"

"Lady Yvraine and I know nothing!"

"Huh?" Sylandri Shadowseer squirmed, seemingly shocked by the shamelessness of the old scoundrel Eldrad Ulthran.

Before Sylandri Shadowseer could protest, Eldrad Ulthran stood up and bowed to the members of the Expeditionary Force with impeccable human etiquette.

"I have yet to introduce myself. Perhaps you still misunderstand me."

"I am the Eldar Farseer Eldrad Ulthran, the Elder, the Visionary, the Chief Supreme Farseer."

"I am an enemy of the cults, and an old acquaintance of the Human Emperor."

"I have witnessed humanity's fall in the Old Night, and I have witnessed the Human Emperor's rise from Terra."

"I have been an enemy of the fallen Fulgrim, and I have guided Vulkan, the Fire Dragon, back to Terra and earned his friendship."

"Unlike my arrogant colleagues, my long lifespan has allowed me to see one truth..."

"..Humanity is the vanguard against the great enemy Chaos in this galaxy. Only by coexisting and helping each other can humanity and the Eldar survive!"

Saying this, Eldrad Ulthran once again cast his gaze upon the Expeditionary Force before him:

"I know your true destination, and I am willing to help you complete your pilgrimage!"

For a moment, the members of the Expeditionary Force looked at each other.

An Eldar claiming to want close cooperation with humanity, and even claiming friendship with the Emperor and the Primarchs, this was simply...

"It was he who released a group of Harlequins into the Terra Imperial Palace during the Beast Arises War, killing many mortal guards and several Custodians, almost reaching the Golden Throne beyond the Eternal Gate."

Just then, Alexander suddenly spoke unhurriedly.

The atmosphere in the air instantly dropped to freezing point.

During the Beast Arises War in the 32nd Millennium, a war that enveloped all of Terra, the Imperium of Man's palace was suddenly attacked by an unexpected enemy.

A group of Eldar Harlequins inexplicably appeared, inexplicably shouting about friendship while cutting through the palace's defenses, almost reaching the Golden Throne...

Then these Harlequins told Grand Master of the Assassinorum Vangorich:

"Although the Ork's battle moon has already reached Terra's doorstep, Chaos is the real threat."

"Forget about the Orks, hurry up and use all your power to fight Chaos!"

This inexplicable act was instigated by Eldrad Ulthran.

Eldrad Ulthran was instantly choked, mumbling something like "This was all to make you see the true threat!" "This was a reminder!" "The Ork threat is nothing compared to Chaos!"

Listening to Eldrad Ulthran' mumbling, Alexander's lips curved into a cold sneer:

"Eldrad Ulthran, your plan hasn't changed at all in ten thousand years."

"You do believe that humanity is a necessary force against Chaos, but this is not for humanity and the Eldar to cooperate for mutual benefit."

"Your goal is merely to have humanity attract the attention of the Chaos Gods, to be a shield for the Eldar."

Humans and Eldar were like two injured beasts. Humanity's injuries were lighter, the Eldar's heavier.

They both hid in the grass, wary of each other, and avoiding the threat in the darkness.

However, the Eldar hoped that humanity would jump out of their own grass to attract the attention of the threat in the darkness.

"Don't disguise exploitation as your selfless and benevolent aid," Alexander reminded in a low voice.

Eldrad Ulthran closed his mouth and turned his gaze to Yvraine beside him.

"We will pay the price."

Yvraine spoke softly, her voice hollow and cold like death itself:

"Shall we discuss it now?"

Alexander breathed a slight sigh of relief after seeing the Eldar concede.

"No, of course not now," Alexander said with a smile.

Extracting benefits from the Eldar was an extremely complex matter, and a result couldn't be achieved in a short time.

Alexander knew there was a more suitable person to complete this work, and that person was currently lying in a Static Field on Macragge.

Yvraine then subtly shifted her gaze back to Alexander: "Since we have reached cooperation, may I ask you to release Sylandri Shadowseer."

"..That won't do."

Alexander tugged slightly on the nanomachine rope in his hand, and the rope suddenly tightened around Sylandri Shadowseer's body:

"What does our cooperation have to do with her?"

"Didn't you say that Cegorach ordered her actions?"

Yvraine slightly opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but couldn't.

Eldrad Ulthran had just said it himself.

Sylandri Shadowseer was ordered by Cegorach and had nothing to do with them!

"What do you intend to do?" Yvraine asked, taking a deep breath.

"Let Cegorach come for her himself," Alexander said without changing his expression.

Yvraine's expression faltered a little.

Currently, Cegorach was hiding in the Black Library deep within the Webway, almost never stepping out.

This was because the Thirsting God always longed to completely devour the Eldar Pantheon.

As long as Cegorach dared to step out of the Webway, the Thirsting God would quickly come knocking.

At that time, Cegorach would no longer be able to laugh.

So it was impossible for Cegorach to leave the Webway and personally come before Alexander to retrieve her...

In reality, Alexander also knew this.

But Alexander also knew that the Laughing God would not abandon Sylandri Shadowseer.

Although the Laughing God was a clown god, he was surprisingly reliable and cared about the Eldar.

Among the Harlequins, there was a unique type of member called Duojiao.

The power of a Duojiao was exceptionally strong, because they made immense sacrifices, playing the Dark Prince Slaanesh himself in their dramas. Their souls would therefore be locked by Slaanesh, and would ultimately be devoured by Slaanesh.

But Cegorach would take risks, using trickery and schemes to try and reclaim the souls of the Duojiao from Slaanesh's grasp.

Of course, the success rate of doing so was not high.

Alexander did not expect Cegorach to leave the Black Library.

He hoped that Cegorach would invite him into the Black Library.

Once inside, Alexander could use the anywhere door to freely enter and exit that treasury of knowledge.

Yvraine noticed the unyielding expression on Alexander's face.

She sighed slightly.

"I will have the Harlequins convey your request to the Laughing God."

"But we cannot delay here, waiting for a response."

Alexander heard Yvraine's words and nodded slightly: "Then let us set off for where we need to go."

This sentence slightly lifted the spirits of everyone present.

Especially Greyfax and Lager.

They still didn't know where the destination of this journey was.

"The cargo you are escorting contains hope."

Yvraine spoke softly:

"He will bring back a great power that you humans once possessed."

"That power will fight against the tendrils of destructive forces and reverse the incursions of the Dark Gods."

"That will be your hope, and it will be our hope too."

"For this, the Webway gate will open for you."

At this point, Yvraine paused slightly.

She stated the goal of this journey.

The place where both the Death Guard and the Human Expeditionary Force must go...

"Macragge, the Gathering Place."
