Chapter 45 - Bad timing

Park Heights apartment, Manhattan

[Faith's bedroom]

Faith's room was a reflection of her personality, with her album covers displayed on her desk for inspiration, and art supplies scattered on the floor, much like her laundry. Bobbi scolds her to tidy up, but she reasons that the chaos motivates her to work. The Vinyl player has been placed on her nightstand as her personal trophy she "borrowed " from the living room.

Freckles stood by the foot of her bed, Marla sat on the bed, crossed legs like she was attending a seminar.

Marla looked amused at her friends ranting, "So you chose to paint the Brooklyn bridge why?"

Faith, pacing in a circle looked at Marla, "Well–bridges are important for cars and stuff...I don't know!" She huffed.

Marla gestured to the spot next to her,"Hey, it's not a bad idea honestly. " She turned to the Polaroids on her desk," That's from your birthday?"

"Yeah...Bo really made my music fantasies to reality. " A blush highlighted her freckles.

"Surre–that's all that happened?" Marla quirked her eyebrow.

Faith fiddled with her jerseys sleeves that consumed her whole arm."Yes...that's all that happened..." She trailed off, avoiding eye contact.

Before Marla could press on, a sudden thud echoed from outside the door.

Thud.

"Ouch..." A voice groaned through the walls.

"Who was that –" Marla's question was lost in the wind as footsteps were creeping closer to their room.

Click.

The door opened and the two artist were greeted to a sight that will haunt their eyeballs for a good month. Jane stood there, pale skin glistening with sweat, hands dug into the flesh of her fuller hips, dressed in a plain white shirt, clearly not hers but draped to her knees and only added to her sensual nature. Marla shamelessly checked her out, memorising every feature like inspiration for her next painting.

Jane noticing the leering, cleared her throat,"Marla I'm flattered to be eye f*cked by you, but I have a man~" She purred out.

Marla broke out her trance, took a step in embarrassment, "S-Sorry–Jane...didn't mean to stare." Marla rubbed the back of her curls.

Thr goth chuckled at her flustered state,"No problem Marla. The mistress of the Coven is too tempting for the mortal eyes." She boasted.

"Jane, what do you want?" Faith questioned, arms crossed at the invasion of her space.

"Just checking up on you girls~do you need drinks?"

"No. Why would I want drinks from someone dressed as an adult catalogue cover. " Faith jabbed.

"Do you really want to do this freckles? You should know as much as me how comfortable his clothes are~" Jane proclaimed like Gospel.

"Oh–my Gosh." Marla muttered, face flushed with embarrassment. "Faith–let's finish this tomorrow...I need to cleanse my mind from everything." Marla moved to get her items, packing with the urgency of a flight.

Marla moved to exit the door, but another person blocked her path.

"Eep!" Marla squeaked in shock.

Bo appeared behind Jane, arms wrapping around her waist in a firm hold, her back pressing his chest and his head rested on her collarbone." Hi Freckles and Marla." He greeted them.

Jane moved closer to his embrace, tilting her head to touch his temple. "You survived ~"

"Barely. " He chuckled, tracing his finger down her hip.

Jane shivered at the touch, blush marking her pale face."Bo–" She whimpered.

"That's enough!" Faith pushed them apart before they traumatise her friend anymore. "Can't you see we have a guest?" She scolded them like kids.

"Sorry Freckles ~"

"Yeah,my bad Faith." Bo pulled her close, planting a kiss to her temple in apology.

"You better be sorry." Faith pouted, turning to her flustered friend,"You want to take a snack brake?"

[Kitchen Island]

The four sat the diner table, quietly eating the ham sandwiches Bo made. Jane looked at the two girls avoiding eye contact. "So–Marla. You staying for movie night?"

"Marla's eyes slightly popped, "Movie night?" She asked.

"Yeah, It's going to be me,Bo, freckles and Bobbi. A crappy foreign film and winw with treats." Jane described.

Faith turned to Marla,"Don't fall for the hype,it's just a normal night, right Bo?"

Bo nodded in agreement. "Yeah, just a normal night–you can stay if you want Marla." He offered.

"No thanks. " Marla politely declined, "I think I'll just be going home."

"To bad, I wouldn't mind another member to the Coven." Jane grinned.

Marla noticing Faith's look, didn't press on.

The doorbell rang out as Bobbi entered the penthouse, "I'm home. " She announced, heavy steps marched down the hallway.

Reaching the kitchen, she saw her misfits and a familiar face, "Marla?"

"Hi Bobbi. " She shyly greeted.

Bobbi turned her focus to Bo,"Anything happened while I was gone?" Her question was more of a warning.

Bo, without missing a beat responded, "Bad timing that's all."
