Chapter 57 - Commission

"Ah! Finally saved."

The White Bear Bepo lay sprawled on the deck, as if finally coming back to life. Law merely glanced at him before fixing his gaze on Luo Yan.

When he clearly saw Luo Yan's appearance, his pupils contracted sharply, and he even found it difficult to control his expression.

"It's not a Fish-Man?"

Initially, everyone in the Heart Pirates thought the submarine had been intercepted by a Fish-Man. After all, in their understanding, only Fish-Men could move freely in the sea and influence ocean currents. But the person standing in the sea before him now was not a Fish-Man, at least, he didn't look like one from his appearance.

"Heh! It seems my actions just now caused some misunderstanding. This should help alleviate it."

As he spoke, Luo Yan's body slowly rose from the sea, floating in the air. Law's expression, which had just softened, nearly lost control again. This man in front of him could not only control ocean currents like a Fish-Man, but he could also fly!

"Who are you?"

Law forcibly reined in his emotions and asked calmly. A faint smile gradually appeared on Luo Yan's face.

"Luo Yan, an Adventurer."

"Luo Yan…"

Law repeated the name softly, his eyes slowly narrowing. He desperately searched his mind, trying to find any information about Luo Yan, but found none.

"Do you… need something?"

Finding nothing, Law no longer pressed the issue and instead asked about the other party's purpose for stopping his submarine.

Luo Yan maintained his smile and said, "I want to commission you for something."

"Commission?"

Law seized on the key word, repeating it with a tone of both surprise and doubt, as if saying, "Are you sure you want to issue a commission to a Pirate?"

Luo Yan nodded and continued on his own, "Yes, I want to ask you to help me find the Silence Fruit, or the person who ate the Silence Fruit. I imagine you're not unfamiliar with this Fruit."

Law's pupils contracted sharply again, then narrowed, and the sword in his hand unsheathed slightly.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

Law's tone became somewhat unfriendly, but Luo Yan ignored him and continued with his own words:

"As compensation, I will offer assistance when you seek revenge on Doflamingo. I can ensure his downfall! Even if he was once a Celestial Dragon!"

Law's face changed dramatically. He stared intently at Luo Yan, and after a long, long time, he took a deep breath to calm himself slightly.

"How can I trust you?"

"You don't have to trust me at all. After all, it's just a Silence Fruit that can't directly enhance combat power; it's not that rare of an item."

Luo Yan put on an attitude of 'cooperate if you want, or get lost if you don't,' and incidentally disparaged the Silence Fruit. He wanted to obtain this Fruit, but he didn't want anyone to know his desire.

Law was silent for a while before slowly nodding.

"I will try to find this Fruit."

"Very good. I look forward to the day you bring me the Fruit. I have already foreseen Doflamingo's downfall."

Law was about to speak when he saw a beautiful lady with wings flying from a ship not far away. Her speed was neither too fast nor too slow.

"Captain, the bats I sent out seem to have spotted Luffy."

Xia Tali wasn't there to join the fun, but to report information. Luo Yan could obtain sounds through the wind, and Xia Tali could also use her abilities to gather information from a distance, even more directly than Luo Yan's.

Luo Yan nodded, about to reply, but Xia Tali suddenly raised her voice:

"What a cute big White Bear!"

Her eyes were fixed on Bepo, who was lying on the submarine's deck, with stars seemingly twinkling in her eyes.

Bepo sat up straight immediately. When he saw that the one staring at him was a great beauty, his eyes went wide. However, at that moment, Xia Tali sighed in disappointment:

"It's a shame he's too big. If he was only one meter, no! Sixty centimeters tall, that would be perfect."

"I'm sorry."

Bepo suddenly stood up and bowed apologetically to Xia Tali with great sincerity, as if it was his fault for being so big.

Xia Tali's eyebrows twitched. She re-examined Bepo with both surprise and doubt.

Law glanced at Bepo. He knew his own White Bear too well and didn't say much, instead focusing his attention on Luo Yan.

"Are you here to intervene in the Summit War?"

Luo Yan first nodded, then shook his head.

"I do intend to make an appearance at the Summit War, but I have no intention of changing the course of the battle. I don't have that ability right now. This war is being broadcast live by the Marines, so the outcome was decided from the start. The Marines will absolutely not lose."

Luo Yan's gaze deepened. Knowing the original story, he knew how many high-level combat forces the Marines had hidden during the Summit War. Neither Sengoku nor Garp fought seriously at the time, and Aokiji and Kizaru were also heavily slacking off.

Part of this was due to their personal reasons, and part was because the battlefield situation was always favorable to the Marines. Moreover, the Marines had already obtained what they wanted at that time, not only killing Ace but also Whitebeard.

And once the Marine side fell into a disadvantage, those slacking high-level combat forces would certainly get serious. In that situation, let alone the current Luo Yan, even if another of the Four Emperors joined, they might not be able to defeat the Marines.

Law also had some judgment on the situation, but he was still somewhat surprised by Luo Yan's certainty.

"You seem very certain."

"Heh! Of course, I forgot to tell you, I'm good at prophecy."

"Prophecy…"

Law repeated the word softly, his expression growing more serious.

Luo Yan smiled at his reaction, said no more, and turned to look at Xia Tali.

"Let's go, let's witness this Summit War!"

With that, Luo Yan was already carried by the wind towards Marine Headquarters, with Xia Tali flapping her wings close behind.

Law looked up, watching the two of them, his already somber expression becoming even more solemn.

"Xia, did you just say Luffy has arrived?"

On the way, Luo Yan asked casually, and Xia Tali immediately nodded.

"That's right, he's arrived, and many people came with him. They fell from the sky, looking like they were about to crash to their deaths, but then Luffy suddenly grew larger and caught them all."

"Grew larger? Weren't they falling with a Warship?"

Luo Yan turned to look at Xia Tali, his brows gradually furrowing. Xia Tali tilted her head, somewhat puzzled.

"A Warship? Why would they fall with a Warship?"

"I understand."

Luo Yan nodded, already knowing where the problem lay. This was different from the original story, possibly because he had delivered a message, causing Luffy to leave Nine Serpent Island early for Underwater Prison, and then causing Luffy to arrive at Marine Headquarters early.

"Since it's earlier, why didn't he run into Ace?"

After understanding one point, Luo Yan had an even greater doubt, but then he quickly became relieved.
