Chapter 56 - Ready

By this time, it was already dark. Luo Yan infused spirituality into the last completed metal carving, tracing patterns along the carved designs and combining them with extraordinary materials to create a charm. Only then did he snap back to reality and see Xia Tali lying asleep on the floor. The goblet still had some residue from the blood clinging to its sides.

Luo Yan then turned to look at the wooden board. Seventy to eighty percent of the potion on it had disappeared. In less than an hour, it should be completely absorbed by the board, transforming into a magical item.

"Phew!"

Luo Yan exhaled, stood up, and after a moment of hesitation, picked up Xia Tali, intending to carry her back to her room. As soon as he stepped out, he saw Luo Ta carrying a large yellow croaker.

"Captain, we're having fish tonight, huh? What happened to little Xia?"

Luo Ta curiously scrutinized Xia Tali. Luo Yan immediately recalled the previous matter of potion digestion.

"Nothing's wrong, she just fell asleep. Speaking of which, how's your potion digestion coming along? It's been so long, why haven't there been any updates?"

"Almost, almost! It's 90% digested, it'll be fully digested very soon. Uh, Captain, I'm going to go cook, okay?"

Luo Ta seemed unwilling to discuss the matter with Luo Yan and strode towards the kitchen with the large yellow croaker. Luo Yan didn't say anything more and brought Xia Tali back to her room.

After dinner, Luo Yan returned to his room and immediately saw a rusty, broad-bladed greatsword lying where the wooden board had been.

The sword was 1.5 meters long and nearly 40 centimeters wide, but it was covered in rust, as if it could rust through at any moment.

Luo Yan leaned down and gripped the hilt, immediately feeling the sword's intense heat, like a red-hot branding iron, extremely scorching to the touch.

He quickly let go and looked down, finding no burns on his hand. The sensation of being burned seemed to have been an illusion.

He frowned and gripped the hilt again. The burning sensation reappeared, but he didn't let go. Instead, he directly picked up the sword and placed it on the chair frame, which was now missing a wooden board.

As soon as he released his hand, the burning sensation vanished, and there were still no burns on his hand.

After repeated testing, Luo Yan could basically confirm that as long as he held the hilt, it would feel like holding a red-hot branding iron. However, this burning only acted on the spiritual level; it wasn't actual burning and wouldn't cause real burns.

Through simple divination and his demigod-level spiritual intuition, Luo Yan judged that the sword's main ability was fire. It could unleash fiery slashes, and when thrust, it could condense a large flaming sword that would fly out and explode upon encountering resistance.

"Not bad."

After confirming the sword's basic abilities, Luo Yan tried carrying it on his back, confirming that there was no burning sensation when it was on his back. The burning only occurred when the hilt was gripped by the wielder, and for a demigod, this was tolerable... Five days later, in the waters near Marineford, Luo Yan's ship drifted quietly on the calm sea. Suddenly, the ocean became violent, and a massive Tsunami abruptly formed, sweeping towards Marineford as if to engulf it entirely. Luo Yan knew this was Whitebeard's declaration of war.

"It's finally begun..."

Luo Yan stood on the deck, gazing at the distant, towering Tsunami, his eyes slightly narrowed.

Just as the Tsunami was about to crash down and shatter Marineford, an extreme chill erupted from the center of the Tsunami's target, instantly freezing the Tsunami and, incidentally, a large area of the surrounding sea. Fortunately, Luo Yan's ship was far enough away to avoid being affected.

"Captain, has it started?"

Xia Tali, feeling the tremor of the ocean, rushed out of the cabin. Although she had mentally prepared herself, she still showed a look of horror when she saw the frozen Tsunami in the distance.

Luo Yan nodded, a faint smile playing on his lips: "Go get ready. Bring all the magical items I gave you, and we'll act together."

"Okay!"

Xia Tali quickly returned to her room to prepare. The others did not come out, remaining in their respective positions.

Luo Yan had already made arrangements in advance. This operation would only involve him and Xia Tali, who possessed the ability to fly. Although Potter also had the ability to fly and considerable support capabilities, Luo Yan did not intend to bring him along.

Firstly, Luo Yan's main goal this time was to make a formal appearance before the world, not to turn the tide of the battle. Secondly, Potter was too small and couldn't equip too many magical items, so his safety couldn't be guaranteed if he came along.

This time, he had given everyone and every animal on the ship corresponding Sailor magical items, and more than one for each, so that they could directly abandon ship and dive into the sea if attacked. For this, he had already hidden all the extraordinary characteristics and materials in the crevices of the seabed, so he wouldn't feel bad even if the ship was directly sunk by a Navy attack.

Luo Yan leaned against the ship's rail, listening intently. The sea breeze carried the sounds of Marineford to his ears.

Although he couldn't see it firsthand, by listening to the sounds and combining them with the original story, Luo Yan could imagine the specific situation currently unfolding in Marineford.

A few more minutes passed, and Xia Tali reappeared on the deck. The feeling she exuded now was noticeably different from before.

At this moment, Xia Tali's cheeks were slightly flushed, her eyes seemed to shimmer, and her entire being appeared more captivating and alluring. These were all various effects of the magical items.

After the Flaming Greatsword was successfully created, Luo Yan made many more magical items. Apart from those Sailor Pathway magical items distributed to other crew members, most were given to Xia Tali, and finally, some were for Luo Yan himself.

"The main character hasn't appeared yet. If you feel uncomfortable, you can take off the magical items for now."

"No need. These magical items have achieved a certain balance, and I don't need to expend much effort to resist them."

"Hmm, then..." Luo Yan had just begun to speak when he sensed something, turned his head to look at the sea, and chuckled softly: "An interesting fellow has arrived. I'm going into the water."

Xia Tali nodded without saying anything. Luo Yan also offered no explanation, directly leaping into the water.

Although he wasn't supersonic in the sea as he was in the air, his speed was still considerable—at least not comparable to ordinary ships or submarines. Soon, he was blocking the path of a yellow submarine.

The people inside the submarine seemed not to have noticed Luo Yan immediately, and by the time they reacted, it was too late to avoid him. Just as they were about to collide, the ocean currents suddenly changed.

A current, seemingly from nowhere, swept the submarine upwards from below, forcibly pushing it to the surface. In just a few seconds, the submarine surfaced from dozens of meters deep. Luo Yan also surfaced, though he didn't fly, but stood on the water's surface.

The submarine's hatch slowly opened. The first to emerge was a White Bear, followed by a man wearing a white hat and wielding a long sword—Trafalgar Law!
