Chapter 35 - Extraordinary

The next day, Luo Yan felt a headache even before opening his eyes.

He had drunk a lot of wine at the banquet yesterday and also gave a cup of blood, so now he felt both a headache and weakness, as if he had suffered a serious illness.

"Hiss~!

It seems I need to drink less in the future."

Luo Yan mumbled as he sat up, planning to sit for a while until his headache eased before getting out of bed.

Just then, there was a sudden knock on his door.

"Who is it? Come in, the door isn't locked."

The door opened, and Xia Tali walked in, carrying a large tray.

"Captain, I brought you something to eat."

Before Xia Tali even got close, Luo Yan had already smelled the aroma.

On the tray were a large pot and a plate; the plate held a fried fish fillet, and the pot contained seafood congee made with various seafood and rice.

"Oh! Thank you, just put it on the table.

I'll eat after I wash up."

"Alright, Captain, I also prepared a potion for you, remember to drink it."

Xia Tali placed the tray on the table in Luo Yan's room and then took out a green potion from her clothes pocket, placing it next to the tray.

Luo Yan subconsciously nodded, but then immediately thought of something and quickly asked:

"This potion isn't for blood replenishment, is it?"

"That's right!

You gave so much blood last night, of course, you need to replenish it today.

Don't worry, I'll prepare a potion for you every day."

Xia Tali said in a slightly playful tone.

Luo Yan's mouth twitched, but he couldn't say anything, so he could only bite the bullet and nod…

In a small country in West Blue, after a night of fierce fighting, the local Resistance Army and the supporting Revolutionary Army pushed back the Royal Guard to their last fortress.

It seemed that as long as this fortress was breached, they could easily enter the palace.

However, this fortress was so sturdy that it had successfully repelled two charges by the Resistance Army.

"Our casualties are too high; we can't organize another charge, damn it!"

The leader of the Resistance Army communicated with a Revolutionary Army member in their makeshift outpost.

This was a man wearing silver armor, a red cape, with golden hair, a full beard, and a scar on his left eye.

Having not slept all night, his eyes were bloodshot and filled with red veins.

If he could, he would even lead the Resistance Army in a charge himself, but he couldn't do that because he was the overall commander of the Resistance Army.

If he fell, the Resistance Army would be leaderless.

Although the Revolutionary Army was still present, he did not want his Resistance Army to be incorporated by them.

He wanted to lead the people of this country to overthrow the current rule.

The Revolutionary Army member had sunken eye sockets and heavy dark circles around his eyes; he, too, had not slept all night.

Compared to the Resistance Army, the Revolutionary Army suffered very few losses.

The Resistance Army was not fully trusted in this country, so the Revolutionary Army only provided strategic and logistical assistance in this war, without needing to engage the enemy in close combat.

Buru Buru, Buru Buru...

Just as the Revolutionary Army member was about to reply, the den den mushi on the table suddenly rang.

He immediately picked up the receiver of the den den mushi.

"This is Rolante."

"This is Dragon."

Mr. Dragon's voice was very calm, but the Revolutionary Army member named Rolante was startled, hastily stood up straight, as if Mr. Dragon was not at the other end of the den den mushi, but standing right in front of him.

"Mr. Dragon, do you have any orders?"

"Hmm, how is the battle situation on your side?"

"The last fortress is a tough nut to crack.

The Resistance Army's two charges were repelled, and the Resistance Army suffered heavy casualties."

"Hand the den den mushi to Mirka."

"Yes, sir!"

Rolante dared not delay and immediately handed the den den mushi receiver to the Resistance Army leader beside him.

The Resistance Army leader's Adam's apple bobbed, and he swallowed before taking the receiver.

"This is Mirka."

"This is Dragon.

Your attack doesn't seem to be going very smoothly.

Do you need the Revolutionary Army's help?"

Mr. Dragon's tone remained calm, but Mirka felt sweat break out on his forehead, and the hand holding the receiver couldn't help but tremble.

"What is the price?"

"After the palace is breached, the king must be handed over to me alive, and if there are any devil fruits in the palace treasury, they must be sold to me at a discounted price."

"To... you?"

Mirka was stunned for a moment, seemingly still trying to process it.

Just then, Mr. Dragon's voice rang out from the den den mushi again:

"I've arrived."

Clang!

Rolante, who was listening nearby, hastily stood up, not only knocking over his chair but also bumping the cup on the table.

But he no longer cared about those things and immediately rushed out of the outpost, looking around.

Mirka was also startled and heavily pressed the receiver back onto the den den mushi, following closely behind Rolante.

The two quickly spotted Mr. Dragon, clad in a black robe, at a protruding spot next to the outpost.

"Mr. Dragon!"

Rolante instinctively called out.

Mr. Dragon did not turn around, but his voice already echoed in their ears.

"Organize the army.

Charge in once the fortress gate opens."

"The gate opens?"

Both were a little puzzled.

Just then, intense gunfire erupted again.

The two looked towards the fortress simultaneously, only to see a brown-haired man, shirtless, with bulging muscles, holding a bowl, charging single-handedly towards the fortress.

As he ran, he sprinkled water from the bowl onto the corpses on the ground.

He moved agilely, dodging most of the bullets, but still, many bullets hit him.

However, these bullets failed to penetrate his body; his skin was like steel, causing the bullets to spark.

He quickly reached a spot less than twenty meters from the fortress gate.

Here, the corpses were already few and scattered, and the water in his bowl had been completely poured out.

He gradually stopped.

The corpses that had been sprinkled with water slowly rose.

Their eyes were dull and lifeless, clearly reanimated corpses.

"The… the corpses are standing up!"

Someone on the fortress shouted, instantly causing a commotion among the entire fortress defense force.

The gunfire became denser and more frantic.

The targets were no longer the muscular man but the swaying reanimated corpses.

Corpses turning into reanimated corpses did not increase their defense.

Bullets could penetrate their bodies but could not stop their swaying steps.

Even if their heads were blown off, they still walked forward resolutely because they were already dead.

Creak~~

Just as all the defensive forces' attention was drawn to the reanimated corpses, the tightly shut metal gate of the fortress opened.

It was opened from the inside.

Pushing the door open was a woman wearing a knee-length beige dress with a white shirt and black round-rimmed glasses.

She also wore a fingerless glove on her right hand.

"Bastard!"

Before the woman could fully open the gate, an angry roar came from behind her, followed by a man nearly three meters tall, holding a spiked war hammer.
