Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: I won’t be a trainer this time!

This Bewear...

Kawaki's mood was somewhat complicated. If Bewear knew that its little master was no longer in this world, who knew what it would become.

Bewear really liked the original owner. When the news of his parents' shipwreck came back, it tried to use the Pain Split move on the original owner to share his pain of losing his loved ones.

Although Pokémon are not human, in some ways, their perceptions are very keen.

Kawaki didn't know if Bewear could detect the 'little master's' change.

Silently sighing in his heart, Kawaki looked around, and then said to Bewear, "I want to look around first."

"Goo~!"

Bewear threw away the broom and diligently led the way for Kawaki.

It used to be the Butler Pokémon of this Breeding House. It could be said that in this world, no one was more familiar with this place than it!

"Are you going to give me a tour?" Kawaki was slightly stunned.

"Goo~!"

Bewear spread its arms wide, as if cheering, and happily nodded its head.

"Then I'll trouble you, Bewear." Looking at such a cute Pokémon performing in front of him, Kawaki's mood improved slightly.

Although Bewear was said to be giving the tour, in reality, the human and the Bewear just walked side by side.

This Breeding House was not very big, divided into two parts: the Breeding House and the Inn.

The first floor was the hall for entertaining Trainer guests. If a Trainer visited, they would handle various services at the counter here.

For example, Pokémon fostering, requesting the Breeding House to teach a certain move, helping to hatch eggs, purchasing and helping to sell Pokémon eggs, and other services.

To raise Pokémon, a sufficiently large space was needed.

Following the original owner's memory, Kawaki walked past the counter and pushed open the slightly old wooden door.

What greeted his eyes was a very vast open space.

The open space was surrounded by wooden fences, but because no one had taken care of it for a long time, many parts of the wooden fences had been corroded and damaged by rain.

The open space was overgrown with weeds and littered with rocks. In the distance, there was also a small forest and a lake.

In his memory, that was where the Water-type Pokémon in the Breeding House lived.

The former Breeding House, though not particularly prosperous, was exceptionally lively.

Various kinds of Pokémon were kept here, some belonging to the Breeding House, and some fostered by guests. Pokémon could be seen almost everywhere.

But since the shipwreck incident three years ago, everything in this Breeding House had been sold off, leaving only an empty shell.

Kawaki had a general idea in his mind.

After touring the Breeding House section, Kawaki returned to the hall.

This house had two floors. The first floor was used as a reception hall for guests, a dining room, and a kitchen.

The second floor was an inn for resting. The previous inn had a total of six rooms available for passing Trainers to rest.

This was because it was located between Meteor Falls and Fallarbor Town. From the Breeding House to the nearest Fallarbor Town, it would take more than half a day on foot.

It was precisely for this reason that the original owner's parents opened an inn on the basis of the Breeding House, providing simple food and a place to rest for passing Trainers.

"Meteor Falls... Fallarbor Town..."

It seemed this was the Hoenn region.

Kawaki pushed open each door of the inn and checked everything inside.

Having been unoccupied for a long time, each guest room was covered in dust. Besides beds and cabinets, there was nothing else.

In this condition, it was impossible for anyone to stay.

There were some well-preserved cooking utensils and tableware in the kitchen. They were placed in the cupboards and were not damaged.

The dining room was located in a corner of the hall. It was called a dining room, but it was just a few simple small wooden tables, also covered in dust.

And in the corner, there was a small wooden door connecting to the backyard.

Kawaki walked forward, pushed open the door, and saw a backyard full of green plants and flowers.

Surprisingly, this place actually had five or six fruit trees planted!

The fruit trees were laden with berries, and judging by their appearance, they seemed to be common Sitrus Berry, Oran Berry, Pecha Berry, and other types of berries.

This area was separated from the Breeding House's backyard and seemed to be specifically used for planting these fruit trees.

"This is..."

Following the original owner's memory, Kawaki quickly understood everything.

Because the Breeding House was far from Fallarbor Town, the original owner's parents specially cultivated a courtyard here to plant berries, vegetables, and various crops to meet the daily needs of the Breeding House and the inn.

Because it was close to Fallarbor Town, the huge Mt. Chimney stood here, and occasionally volcanic Ash would drift down from it, making the vegetation in the surrounding areas grow exceptionally lush.

However, due to the passage of time, the previously cultivated area was now overgrown with weeds.

"Such fertile soil is indeed suitable for planting crops..." Kawaki thought to himself.

He looked at the overgrown backyard in front of him, and the bloodline in his body instinctively made him want to plant something here.

"Goo~!".

Just then, Bewear, who had been following Kawaki, suddenly ran forward. It extended its arm, picked a Sitrus Berry from the tree, and then happily handed it to Kawaki.

Kawaki was slightly stunned. Looking at Bewear's expectant eyes, he couldn't bear to refuse and accepted it with a smile.

"Let's go back to the hall, I'm done looking!" Kawaki said.

"Goo~" Bewear had no objections.

In the hall of the Breeding House, Kawaki, who finally understood his current situation, calmly pondered.

Golden finger, Breeding House, Bewear...

Making Pokémon feel better would earn rewards.

He had to admit, his golden finger was quite suitable for running a Breeding House...

In this way, many Trainers would bring their Pokémon and foster them here.

As long as he carefully cared for them and made those Pokémon happy, he could receive 'gifts' from them.

Kawaki narrowed his eyes, deep in thought.

As a man who had grown up watching Pokémon since childhood, Kawaki had also fantasized about traveling around with his favorite Pokémon like Ash when he was young.

But now, it seemed completely unrealistic.

His pockets were empty, and he would starve to death on the road as soon as he left home.

In addition, many aggressive wild Pokémon lived in the wild, and without even a starter Pokémon, it was impossible for him to safely reach the next town.

Kawaki looked at the 'Baby-Doll Eyes' TM he had just acquired, and combined with the original owner's memory of the Breeding House's main business, a plan immediately formed in his mind.

Since that was the case, he would use this TM to earn his first pot of gold in this world.

Then he would rebuild this dilapidated Breeding House, make it flourish, and raise a large group of his favorite Pokémon in the backyard!
