Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: That Man's Eyes See Only Becoming Stronger

"I'm Hikigaya Hachiman from Class 2-F. Although it's strange to say this so suddenly, I have absolutely no intention of joining your esteemed club... Ouch!"

Before Hikigaya could finish his sentence, he was brought down by a super elbow strike.

"Your punishment is to join this club. And I will not listen to any arguments, resistance, protests, dissatisfaction, or backtalk. You will stay here, calm down, and reflect on your actions!"

So, is our Service Club some kind of prison? Upon hearing Hiratsuka Shizuka's description, several dark lines appeared on the foreheads of both Yukinoshita and Mori Shinra.

"Tyranny! This is tyranny!"

Whoa, he's still resisting after being elbowed like that? Hikigaya, you...

"One more word out of you, and I won't be so polite," Hiratsuka Shizuka suppressed him without mercy, then looked at the two seated in the classroom.

"In short, as you can see, this person has a very twisted personality, so he's always alone and very pitiful. If he learns how to interact with people, this situation should improve. So, can I leave him here? I'd like to ask you to change his twisted and solitary personality."

Yukinoshita held no favorable impression of Hikigaya, especially knowing he was involved in the car accident. She wanted nothing to do with him.

Mori Shinra was already difficult enough for her to handle. If they added another strange-looking guy like this, Yukinoshita felt that her future club life was looking a bit bleak.

Therefore, Yukinoshita said in a cold voice, "If that's the case, please just give him a good beating, Sensei."

What a cold and heartless thing to say.

Even Hikigaya, who was already prepared for death, couldn't help but show a shocked expression upon hearing Yukinoshita's words.

"I'd like to, if I could, but things are stricter recently. Teachers are not allowed to use physical violence on students."

What a brutal and bloody thing to say.

Are all women in the world bloodthirsty individuals who advocate violence? Otherwise, how could he explain that every woman he met wanted to use their fists on him?

No, wait, Komachi wouldn't. Sob, indeed, no girl in the world matters except for my little sister!

"I must refu..."

"Please wait a moment, Yukinoshita-san." The subordinate, Mori Shinra, very presumptuously interrupted his superior Yukinoshita's negotiation process.

Yukinoshita Yukino looked at her club member with a puzzled expression, as if asking, is there a problem?

Shinra gestured for her to calm down, then looked at Hiratsuka Shizuka. "Sensei, are you sure you want to entrust us with helping to correct this, um... Cookie-gu-san's twisted personality?"

"That's right," Hiratsuka confirmed.

"Um..." Cookie-gu-san wanted to remind them that his name was Hikigaya.

Besides, Hikigaya didn't think his personality needed correcting. If anything, it was the world that needed correcting!

However, none of the three people present looked at him, which made Hikigaya give up.

Originally, Shinra didn't want to interfere with Yukinoshita's decision. Whether this Hikigaya classmate joined or not, he didn't really care, even though, in a way, he had taken the hit from the car for him.

But then again, if he hadn't been hit, he might not have awakened his system. It was a blessing in disguise.

In short, besides having an issue with his life-risking act to save a dog, Shinra himself didn't dislike him, though he didn't particularly like him either.

The reason he went against his initial thought and intervened in Yukinoshita's decision was actually because of the blue exclamation mark that had appeared above Hiratsuka Shizuka's head.

This was the third color of Wish Request he had encountered, a third-tier quest, two levels higher than the first gray-level Wish Request he'd received.

On a side note, the Wish levels were divided into Gray, Green, Blue, Purple, and Gold. The person who designed this system probably played a lot of online games.

Shinra felt that while he might not be able to accept the Golden Wish Request for now, a blue one should be no problem, right?

The request had been delivered right to his doorstep; how could he possibly turn it away?

The young Mori Shinra yearned to become stronger.

"I think since Hiratsuka-sensei has already said so much, perhaps you could reconsider, Yukinoshita-san. After all, isn't the purpose of our Service Club to offer a helping hand to the weak?"

So the club's founding principle is for the strong to help the weak? By the way, is it really okay to arbitrarily define others as 'weak'? Don't look down on me; I'm third in the year for liberal arts. Although I can't compare to that monster next to you who's first in the year, in terms of academic ability, I should also qualify as 'strong,' right? Also, why are you staring at Hiratsuka-sensei when you say that? Shouldn't you at least look at me when you're defining me as weak? Hikigaya's mind was filled with grumbling thoughts.

It seemed like Shinra was looking at Hiratsuka, but in reality, he was staring at the Wish Request!

At least, after the blue exclamation mark appeared above Hiratsuka's head, Shinra had eyes for nothing else. Unless Yukinoshita was willing to show him her golden exclamation mark, he absolutely would not pay attention to anything else.

Loyalty!

Yukinoshita Yukino didn't understand why Mori Shinra would suddenly say such a thing, but she understood the message he was trying to convey. He wanted that Cookie-gu to join the club. Otherwise, he would never have gone out of his way to say something like that.

Although Yukinoshita wanted to reject Hikigaya's entry, she couldn't ignore Shinra's opinion...

"Are you sure?" Yukinoshita asked, directing the question to Shinra.

"It mainly depends on President Yukinoshita's opinion," Shinra replied verbally without a direct confirmation, but his words and tone clearly meant 'yes.'

You get what I mean, right?

Yukinoshita understood what he meant, but she didn't understand why he meant it.

Whatever, I don't care anymore. Since he doesn't mind, why should I?

Hmph, just don't regret it later!

With Mori Shinra's intervention, the scales in Yukinoshita Yukino's mind tipped to the other side.

"Alright. Since both Sensei and Mori Shinra-san have said so, I can't just stand by and watch... I accept this request."

"So in the end, is no one going to ask for my opinion?" Hikigaya felt like he shouldn't be in this classroom. It was as if it didn't matter whether he was here or not!

"Great. I'll be counting on you then," Hiratsuka Shizuka said with a satisfied smile.

After she said this, Shinra received feedback on his end. Just a preliminary agreement gives one Wish Point?

This was a bit incredible to him. If a blue Wish Request was already like this, wouldn't a golden one be off the charts?

He decided. He would deal with Hiratsuka's request as quickly as possible, and then go all-in on Yukinoshita's.

Thinking of this, Mori Shinra slowly turned to look at Hikigaya Hachiman, who had been left in the classroom by Hiratsuka, a "kind" smile spreading across his face.

Correcting a twisted personality, is it?
