Sipping my cocktail while watching another sunset had become my only escape from reality. Against my expectations, he hadn't locked me in that suffocating room.
Instead, Charles allowed me to wander freely across this prison island. I could walk the beaches, sit by the water, and lose myself in the endless horizon for hours.
But I was completely alone.
My days stretched in absolute silence. My nights drowned in impenetrable darkness. Initially, I searched every corner of the mansion, explored the dense forest, combed the shoreline. I desperately hunted for any escape route or clue about Fred and Paul's whereabouts. Nothing.
This island existed in complete isolation. The ocean remained the only exit.
Charles departed that day. Probably with Lyla by his side.
He never returned. Not even once. I remained abandoned, consumed by my thoughts, wallowing in misery, suffocating in the deafening quiet.
