I had expected Dominic to come storming to me after the confrontation earlier, but he stayed away. My brief relief vanished when word came that the council would convene within hours.
The council chamber radiated power from every corner as I stepped inside. An enormous oak table commanded the space, surrounded by chairs that had witnessed centuries of pack politics and bloodshed.
Four alphas occupied their positions around the rectangular surface, each one a force of nature in his own right.
Charles held court at the head, his very existence demanding submission from everyone present.
My gaze swept across the assembled leaders, cataloging their imposing figures. Alpha Juan projected raw strength, his weathered features speaking of countless battles. Beside him sat Luna Stella, her auburn waves catching the light as emerald eyes surveyed the room with quiet intelligence.
