Chapter 142 - Chapter 142: Beast Man

"Rhode, didn't we agree to act together? Why did the American Military act in advance?"

Chief George cursed, and Rhode awkwardly said, "Sorry, it was a requirement from above."

The secretary pointed at the screen and said, "The reporters are here too, and it's being live-streamed. Clearly, our mayor wants to make a big splash."

"..."

Chief George expressed that he really wanted to curse right now. Which blind idiot elected this crappy mayor?

"Big news."

The conflict outside the coffee shop quickly attracted the customers' attention. April even took out her phone and started filming frantically.

"War Machine, and ten cheap toys?"

The armored person looked at the power Armor surrounding them and said disdainfully, "Do you think you can stop us?"

Rhode was stunned by the words: "A woman? You're not Shredder?"

The armored person was indeed not Shredder; she was Shredder's adopted daughter, Karai.

"Move, take care of all of them."

Karai didn't waste words and commanded loudly. Rhode realized something was wrong and was about to attack when, at that moment, Beastmen, one after another, burst out from the surrounding buildings.

That's right, Beastmen, such as Boarmen, Rhino, Dog-headed Men, Tigermen, and so on. It's worth mentioning that they didn't like using the main entrance; they all burst through walls.

Leading the charge was a true Rhino with horns on its head. It roared, charged forward with its head, and its single horn violently slammed into the power Armor in front. The soldier inside the power Armor screamed, being pushed by the Rhino into the building behind.

Other Beastmen also launched their attacks. The power Armor were caught off guard, sent flying one after another, or knocked to the ground.

"Don't panic, treat them as ordinary enemies, counterattack."

Heavy Cannon shouted while firing a missile at a charging Tigerman.

Boom! The Tigerman was blown away by the missile. Before Heavy Cannon could celebrate, he was tackled to the ground by an Ape-man. Then, the man and the ape wrestled fiercely on the ground.

Other power Armor also began to counterattack, but there were simply too many Beastmen. They were completely at a disadvantage and could only barely hold on.

"fuck, where did these monsters come from?"

Seeing the Beastmen on the TV, the citizens were dumbfounded. Although New York had all sorts of monsters, for dozens of Beastmen of different races to suddenly appear was simply too unbelievable, wasn't it?

Some experienced citizens immediately began to prepare to flee. Clearly, another disaster had arrived.

The citizens wailed: "It's only been a little over a month! Can't we have a break? Not all the people who died last time have been buried yet, okay? Can't you sympathize with the priests who have to run to over a dozen funerals a day? Do you believe they'll go on strike?"

"Damn it."

Rhode's face was extremely grim. He activated his machine gun and swept wildly at Karai. Karai nimbly dodged while leading the ninjas to escape into the museum.

Rhode thought for a moment and pursued them into the museum, believing in catching the leader first.

"I knew the American Military was unreliable."

This statement came not only from Chief George but also from S.H.I.E.L.D. and the general public—they had previously boasted about how powerful and strong the military was, but they were beaten into submission, or rather, great-grandchildren, on first contact.

Chief George picked up the walkie-talkie and shouted, "Vigilante Squad, hurry and provide support! S.H.I.E.L.D., come support! Iron Man, come support!"

"Coming right away."

S.H.I.E.L.D. and Iron Man immediately agreed. When Iron Man saw the Beastmen on the screen, his first thought was that Osborn Group was conducting biochemical experiments again. He then realized that Osborn had already gone bankrupt, so they couldn't take the blame for this.

"Something's wrong."

Gwen saw the situation outside the museum and said to the four Giant Turtle, "This is clearly a trap. The Foot Clan's target might be you."

Leonardo and the other turtles were stunned: "Us?"

Gwen nodded: "Yes, the intelligence you intercepted was deliberately leaked to you by the Foot Clan. They want to lure you to the museum and capture you."

The turtles were puzzled: "Why do they want to capture us?"

Gwen speculated: "It might be because of the secret on your bodies. Those Beastmen are very similar to you."

"They do look quite similar."

The turtles scratched their heads—their rat master hadn't told them much, so they didn't know that their origins were related to the Foot Clan.

Jessica asked, "Should I stop the car?"

"No, we're not afraid of the Foot Clan. Besides, there are many people there who need help."

Raphael shouted, "True ninjas never fear their enemies."

Michelangelo, with the yellow mask, also shouted, "That's right, we're not afraid."

"Then let's go. Whatever the Foot Clan's conspiracy, they chose the wrong battle location."

Gwen said confidently. Her boyfriend was drinking tea in the coffee shop.

Outside the museum, the battle quickly spread to the entire street. Citizens screamed and ran in all directions. The reporters who were called to film also threw down their microphones and cameras and fled. Those Beastmen were simply too terrifying; even power Armor were no match for them.

Police officers rushed in from all directions to provide support, fighting the Beastmen alongside the military's power Armor, and at the same time helping the civilians escape.

April didn't run. She was still filming. This was big news. Whether she could get promoted depended on this one time.

At this moment, April noticed that the handsome man by the window also hadn't run. He was still calmly drinking tea, as if watching a play.

April sighed, "What a pity. He's so handsome, but there's something wrong with his brain."

Just then, with a bang, a power Armor was slammed into the coffee shop by a Boarman. The staff, frightened, quickly ran to the back kitchen. Soon, only the oblivious Andrew and April were left in the shop.

"They say New York is bizarre, but this is too bizarre, isn't it? It's just about capturing a gang leader, so why did a group of Beastmen appear? How on earth do New Yorkers survive until now?"

Scarlett, wearing her power Armor, struggled to get up from the ground. Even she, who was usually calm, was a bit frantic at this moment. Was this New York, or hell?

The Boarman jumped into the coffee shop with a rumble. He looked at Scarlett, drool almost flowing down: "Beauty, I like beauties."

The Boarman said, while forcefully charging at Scarlett. Scarlett quickly dodged. Then, she picked up a nearby table and slammed it hard onto the Boarman's back.

Bang! The table shattered, and the Boarman was knocked to the ground. Scarlett was about to continue her attack when a Wolfman rushed in and tackled Scarlett fiercely from the side, pinning her to the ground.

Then, the Wolfman forcefully ripped with its claws, and Scarlett's helmet flew off, her red hair scattering on the ground.

The Wolfman grinned hideously, preparing to bite off Scarlett's neck. Scarlett, though surprised, remained calm and pressed her 10mm caseless machine gun against the Wolfman's abdomen.

Da da da! The machine gun activated, and the Wolfman screamed, crawling back, blood continuously flowing from its abdomen.

Before Scarlett could even breathe a sigh of relief, the Boarman roared and slammed a chair onto her, instantly denting her power Armor.

Scarlett screamed. This wasn't over. The Boarman grabbed Scarlett and slammed her heavily onto the ground. Bang! A large pit appeared directly in the ground.

Seeing Scarlett completely at a disadvantage, April no longer cared about filming. She picked up a nearby chair and slammed it hard onto the Boarman's back.

Crack! The chair broke, but the Boarman was unharmed.

"Commendable courage, but lacking in intelligence."

Andrew shook his head. April, as the female lead of the Ninja Turtles, did have her strengths, but unfortunately, like most protagonists, she was too impulsive.

The Boarman turned its head angrily. When it saw a beautiful woman, its anger instantly vanished, replaced only by Greed in its eyes. It shouted, "Both of you together, I like it."

The Wolfman on the side rolled its eyes. Why was a pig so lecherous? It's worth noting that while the Wolfman was injured, it wasn't serious; its muscles were very strong.

April panicked, retreating repeatedly. Soon, she bumped into Andrew's table. She looked back at the still-calm Andrew and shouted, "Let's break the glass together and escape!"

Andrew ignored April and continued to drink his tea.

"Shit."

April cursed and ran to the other side, preparing to break the glass. Just then, she was surprised to find that the Boarman seemed to have forgotten her existence and turned to walk towards Scarlett.

"What's going on?"

April looked puzzled. At this moment, the Boarman suddenly roared in anger—Scarlett was gone, and only the empty power Armor remained in her place.

The Wolfman twitched its nose, grabbed a nearby chair, and threw it to the right. Bang! The invisible Scarlett was hit by the chair, flying out and falling to the ground, spitting blood.

Scarlett was using a high-tech invisibility suit, but unfortunately, it couldn't fool the Wolfman's nose.

April saw that Scarlett was not far from her and rushed out to drag her to the table. Scarlett clutched her abdomen and said painfully, "It's useless for you to drag me here. Don't mind me, escape yourself. I'm doomed."

April said, "Maybe a miracle will happen again."

"Miracles are unscientific, and unscientific means non-existent."

Scarlett gave a bitter smile. She never thought she would die in such a place.

"I don't understand what you're saying, but a miracle really did happen again."

April pointed forward and said. Scarlett was stunned. She looked up and found that the Wolfman and Boarman had completely forgotten her existence and left the coffee shop to deal with other power Armor.

Scarlett completely failed to comprehend this scene: "This is unscientific."

"It is indeed unscientific, but I finally understand why this handsome man is so calm."

April struggled to help Scarlett to the seat opposite Andrew. Then, she asked Andrew with a curious expression, "How did you do that? Why did those two monsters forget about us?"

Scarlett also looked at Andrew in surprise and asked, "Is it some kind of high-tech device?"

"It's a 'No Trespassers' spell. As long as this spell is cast around, Muggles will ignore your existence."

Andrew said indifferently, "Mages often use this spell to do their own things in places with people."

"Mages?"

April and Scarlett looked bewildered. This answer was completely beyond their expectations. Did magic really exist in this world?

"Magic does not exist in this world."

Scarlett shook her head repeatedly: "Magic is just a trick to deceive people."

"Mages have protected the world for thousands of years, while mortals know nothing, complacently enjoying safety and freedom."

Andrew said with a slight disdain, fully demonstrating the arrogance of a mage towards Muggles.

"So, there are many Mages in this world?"

April couldn't help but raise her phone to film Andrew. If Mages really existed, that would be big news.

To April's surprise, as soon as the phone camera was pointed at Andrew, it immediately went blank. She tried several times, but it was always the same. She asked in surprise, "What kind of spell is this again?"

"Artificial intelligence. Your phone has been hacked by me."

Andrew tapped his watch, and a holographic projection appeared, showing the contents of April's phone, including some particularly nice private photos.

April and Scarlett were bewildered again. A moment ago, he was acting like a mage, so why did he suddenly become an artificial intelligence? Wasn't this change in style a bit too fast?

"As far as I know, only Stark Industries and Rebirth Group have such advanced artificial intelligence. Who exactly are you?"

Scarlett asked suspiciously, "Also, what kind of high-tech made those two monsters ignore us?"

Andrew didn't answer and continued to watch the show. Seeing this, Scarlett also turned her gaze to the window. Seeing her companions being ravaged by the monsters, she clenched her fists tightly but could do nothing.

"Don't peek at my privacy."

April finally reacted, shouting with a red face. Andrew smiled faintly, put away the holographic projection, and said, "Don't worry, I've lived for hundreds of years; I'm not interested in little girls."

"Hundreds of years?"

Scarlett didn't believe it at all. April, however, was a bit speechless. She hesitated, then gave up on exploring Andrew's secret and continued to film the battle outside.

Bang! Heavy Cannon was heavily stomped on the ground by an Elephantman. Heavy Cannon was about to raise his machine gun to attack when the Elephantman swung its trunk forcefully, sending the machine gun parts scattering.

"Die."

The Elephantman grinned hideously and raised its foot, preparing to stomp Heavy Cannon to death. Just then, a truck slammed into it, sending it flying and crashing heavily onto the ground.

Then, the truck stopped, and four Ninja Turtles burst through the cargo compartment and jumped onto the street, shouting excitedly, "We're here!"

"Can't you just get out of the car normally? Do you know how expensive car repairs are? What, this isn't my car? Uh, never mind what I just said."

Jessica complained as she got out of the car, with Spider-Woman and Colleen following closely behind.

"This is cooler."

Raphael shouted, brandishing his twin sai, and charged towards a Beastman. The other three turtles also excitedly joined the fight.

Gwen and the two other women shook their heads and launched an attack on the Beastmen. The Beastmen roared and fought with the Superheroes.

A Bearman picked up a car and threw it at Colleen. Colleen slid under the car with a slide tackle, reaching the Bearman's front. Then, the long blade in her hand suddenly unsheathed, flashing with white light as it sliced across the Bearman's waist. The Bearman was instantly cut in half at the waist, its upper and lower parts falling to the ground one after another.

The Bearman didn't die, crawling painfully on the ground. Colleen stood up indifferently and stabbed the blade into the Bearman's head.

Iron Fist's death made Colleen extremely ruthless. Those villains deserved to die—never provoke a woman whose boyfriend has died.

Seeing the Superheroes arrive, the hidden civilians around cheered. Only Superheroes were reliable; those useless military personnel were good enough if they didn't cause more trouble.

Scarlett looked dejected. The special forces' debut was a complete failure; they had severely underestimated New York.
