Chapter 5 - Escape

He was alive, good, that's a deal sealed, he'd hold his own part of the deal later.

What was the plan now? He had no idea.

His plan somewhat stopped at after and if he came back to life it would probably be when neither of his assailants were within proximity.

And so far that much had been accomplished, now all that was left was escaping from the clan, which was easier said than done.

From his memories, the uchiha clan had only one gate and following there would be suicide as he wasn't immortal… yet.

And so the surest way to escape from them was through…

The Forest, if I can just get into the forest and use the tall trees as my cover, my chances of surviving would be higher. He thought

And the nearest forest simply was through the stream of water to which he knew not its depth.

But regardless he choose to brave it than go the roundabout route.

Darlington had long since noticed that he was no longer in his body, but the body of someone unfamiliar and judging from the height, stature and frail of the body, at best it would be a eight to ten year old.

But he did not care for that right now as first on his list was retrieving the kunai to give him an intentional false sense of security.

And then he crouched low under the moonlight avoiding open or tall buildings until he reached the supposed stream.

He couldn't help but recoil at what he saw in the reflection, it was himself, as in his real self from his world earth, except a few years younger.

He'd always believe he was killed by Truck-kun' and then reincarnated but was rather transmigrated into this world in the body of his younger self, still he didn't have time anymore and walked in.

Only after Darlington was completely submerged in it did he notice it was a river.

For some second, he could not pull his body weight while submerged as fear struck him, but he quickly got rid of it and started swimming just below the surface of the river to avoid being seen.

Luck was on his side today as his ability to transverse the water was solely because it was not flowing as quickly as usual and it was nightfall.

He quickly crossed the river away from where he intended to surface from but he didn't complain as the trees were only a few meters away from him.

His heart was still in his throat until the forest embraced him, but just to make sure, he kept running and panting while still running nonstop until he eventually ran out of stamina and laid on a tree to catch some breath.

"i expected you to go on a little while longer…" a voice said from above the tree

"only then would I not be the one to kill you again but also observe how you survived" the voice continued as it stared at Darlington.
