Sallie's POV
I had no clue what went down after I left.
I'd just slipped away to a corner to make a call and caught Salome and Rowan's conversation. When I returned, Todd was waiting for me nearby.
He'd already spotted me, and instead of letting me walk over, he jogged toward me.
We didn't need words. His nod told me everything, and I understood immediately.
While I was on that call, Todd had been busy too.
After all, we were setting up for quite the performance.
We traded information seamlessly, then positioned ourselves by a nearby table. The spot gave us a perfect view of the entire hotel lobby while letting Salome's people keep tabs on us.
The waiting stretched on forever. Todd selected several desserts and handed them to me, but didn't touch any himself. I noticed this, though I was used to it by now. Living with Todd this long, I knew exactly how particular he was about food.
