Want to know what's the hardest part about being a college student? Being broke, yeah I get financial aid but that's hardly enough, my parents send me money whenever they can but again that's barely enough to get by. I'm just lucky I'm on an academic scholarship and school has been free because I'd be fucked once i graduate next June. Now here I am looking for places to apply to make some kind of money for my senior year, luckily for me school doesn't start for another month so I can get some type of full time work before school starts. I'm in my dorm room on my laptop looking for places to apply for when my roommate and friend, Andy, walks in.
"What you up to Jay?"
"Looking for a job"
"Oh how's that going?"
"Ehhh not that great, unless I'm trying to work a labor job there's nothing much out there right now"
"Yeah I wouldn't want to work in a hot ass warehouse either but that's Oklahoma for you"
"Hmmm I guess"
"Why are you looking for a job all of a sudden?"
"It's our senior year, I need money to do some cool shit"
"True but my NIL money been hitting lately so I got us"
"Naw that's your money you earned, I need to get my own"
"Alright if you say so, Walmarts hiring"
"Did that my senior year of high school, not doing that again"
"For you needing money you're being real damn picky"
As I'm scrolling through the job openings I see one that catches my eye
"This one looks alright"
"What is it?"
"Looks like a new Halloween themed theme park opening up for the season"
"Oh shit really?!?"
"Yeah it's called 'The Nightmare Experience'. I guess this is going to be its first year here, kinda looks like a knock-off Halloween horror nights"
"That would be cool, what is it for like a scare actor?"
"Security, no experience needed and no guard card required. I'm going to apply"
"Yeah sounds easy and pretty cool, maybe you'll get a discount too"
I fill out the application form and send it through
"Alright let's hope I get a call back"
A few minutes pass by and I get a email notification
"Oh shit they already responded"
"What did they say?!?"
"Hello Jay, thank you for your interest in working for us this upcoming Halloween season, we would like to bring you in for an interview tomorrow at 11am, we look forward to hearing from you"
"Oh shit!!"
"That was fast, let me respond back"
I email them back and accept the interview request and close my laptop
"Man I hope I get this job"
"I hope you do too, I can bring a girl there and get a discount from you"
"You're already thinking too far ahead"
"I mean I know you'll get the job, you're pretty big and intimidating, I'm sure you can handle someone easily"
"I would be a security guard not a cop, observe and report"
"Ehhh whatever, still sounds like easy money and who knows maybe you can pick up some girls working there"
"Let's see how the interview goes first, don't want to put all my eggs in the basket and then I don't even get the job, then I'm back to square one"
"I believe in you"
"Thanks bro, anyways shouldn't you be getting to practice"
"Oh shit, I'll catch you later"
Andy then runs out the room and I just look at the website for the place, they look legit even though I've never heard of it before. As im looking through the pictures, it gives me some good vibes and seems like my kind of place, hopefully I get this job and who knows maybe I can work there next year as well while I figure things out after graduation, but let's not think that far ahead I still need to get this interview done tomorrow.
