Kiara's POV
I woke to the alarm of my cellphone , I got up slowly while rubbing my eye in attempt to wake myself up. My phone screen lits up as it reads 6 am. I sighed as I gently put it down as I know my classes would start at 8:30.
"Kiara come down and have breakfast, you're going to be late."
My mom's voice echoed. I quickly got out of my pajamas and head down stairs.
"Where's dad, nasa work na ba agad?"
I asked my mom, looking straight at her. My mom was taken aback and had this weird look but she quickly composes herself.
"You know your Dad sweetie, gusto niya laging maaga."
She said as she views a message on her phone. I just sighed and started eating my breakfast. Mom doesn't usually stay for breakfast so this is one of the special occasions where I actually got to talk to her and it's nice.
"What about you, what time do you plan to go to work? "
I asked as a munch down my breakfast.
"After the driver drops you off the school, he'll drop me off work."
My mom replied as she takes out her phone and checks her messages. I just nodded and quietly and finished my breakfast. After breakfast I quickly got up from the table and took a shower as well as brush my teeth so I can finally pick an outfit. I went upstairs to finally get ready.
I texted Justin and said I was on my way. I grabbed my backpack and my things and headed towards our car.
*AT SCHOOL*
It's 7:30 and I still had an hour before classes starts. I took out my earpods and just as I was about to put in on someone tapped my shoulder. I turned around and see it was Justin
"Hey babe, you're early today" He said jokingly. I chuckled at his comment
"You know Ms. Alvarez, baka mamaya may pa quiz yan."
I answered. A little while later Giselle, Bryan, Denise, and Michael arrived. And after a while, it was time to go to class. We were on our way when suddenly a girl came rushing in with some iced coffee in her hands. In her rush she spilled the coffee on my dress. How dare she?!! This is an expensive dress.
"What the hell??!! Watch where you're going gosh!"
I shrieked at her and my voice reaches even the end of the hallway. The girl, ashamed quickly got her handkerchief and tried to get the stain out.
"I'm really sorry, nagmamadali kasi ako-"
before the girl could finish I cut her off
"I don't care, do you know how expensive this dress is? It's ruined now!"
The girl just repeatedly said sorry like a broken record but there's nothing she can do about my ruined dress. Giselle then took the handkerchief and she turned to me.
"Don't worry Kiara, I have an extra in my bag. "
She turns to the new girl with a sharp gaze.
"As for you, watch where you're going next time or you'll regret it."
I sighed and thanked Giselle, she came with me till the door of the bathroom. I quickly changed and put my clothes in my bag. I'll just return it tomorrow, Giselle won't mind right? I went out the bathroom and met up with Giselle as we went to our class.
Ms. Alvarez was already starting when I walked in. She looked at me while still holding the book in her hands.
"Nice of you to join us Ms. Monroe and Ms. Balaguer."
I stared right back at her and fixed my posture.
"Sorry Ma'am... Just had a little emergency"
She closed her book and placed it at the table as she turned to me.
"You know very well how I value punctuality, this better not happen again or that's a detention. Am I clear?"
We just nodded and quickly went to our seats as she resumed her lesson.
As always I would take notes from her lessons in my own words as I would use it when reviewing for exams or quizzes. This would be our last year in highschool and I really hope I'm enroute to become the valedictorian and then after college I'm off to med school.
