Chapter 26 - 26

Unless they form the Avengers, they will not be able to compete with these mutants.

The abilities of these mutants are so bizarre.

32. Exploring the Wreckage of the Aircraft

Nick Fury didn't care too much about it, since these things were not secrets anyway.

Even if you hide it, they will find out sooner or later.

"So, the Avengers' plan needs to be accelerated. As for Dr. Banner, that Iron Man, and Daredevil, I'll trouble you, Natasha, to contact them," said Nick Fury.

"No problem, but boss, we should also be able to absorb some mutants and let them join our Avengers. Mutants are not a monolithic group, and we only need to give these newly mutated mutants some leadership and instill some personal heroism in them. Young mutants may become our most effective helper in dealing with the mutant threat." Natasha said. Although she had her own calculations in her heart, this method was also mutually beneficial.

"Well, that makes some sense. I'll leave this matter to you." Nick Fury nodded and said.

After discussing for a while, Yang Han did not say anything because there were outsiders present. He hid in Natasha's body, slowly digesting the genes copied from the little spider.

A few hours later, on a glacier west of Greenland.

An icebreaker stopped at the destination, and then a ladder for people to walk and carry items extended from the left side of the icebreaker.

A team of agents walked down the stairs deployed from the icebreaker, carrying a lot of equipment.

The agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are all wearing heavy cold-proof clothing, and the thick layer of ice under their feet is more than enough to bear the weight of these agents.

"This is it." said an agent at the front.

Coulson walked in front excitedly. Nick Fury saw Coulson's loss of composure and smiled. He knew how much Coulson admired Captain America, and he even felt a sense of honor.

When I got to the front, I saw a huge piece of mechanical wreckage stuck in a depression of ice and snow. There was also a lot of ice and snow covering many parts of it.

There are often blizzards in the Arctic Ocean area. There is more ice and snow on the wreckage of the plane than in the previous photos, which is obviously covered by the blizzards in the past few days.

Natasha was also wearing thick cold-proof clothing. Even though her body had been strengthened, she still couldn't withstand the extremely cold temperatures in the Arctic.

Looking at a portable theodolite, Nick Fury said to Coulson, "Yes, this is it. Coulson, get ready to start exploring the wreckage."

Nick Fury was also a little excited. After more than seventy years of separation, they could finally meet again.

As a member of the Howling Commandos more than seventy years ago, how could Nick Fury not recognize this aircraft?

This is the battlefield where Steve Rogers and Red Skull have their final battle!

"Okay." Coulson then directed the other agents who came with him to set up the equipment and prepare to begin the investigation.

Almost every current SHIELD agent grew up listening to stories about Captain America, and they feel like they are about to meet their idol.

Natasha looked at the wreckage of the Hydra plane stuck in the ice and snow. As a lot of ice and snow covered the wreckage, only part of the plane could be seen, but the Hydra skull octopus claw logo could still be seen on the exposed wings.

The wreckage of the plane was indeed very large. The trunk was mainly covered by ice and snow, while the broken wings were still basically visible.

The length between the wings of this fuselage is over 100 meters, and there are countless broken parts on the wings, and some places are missing pieces.

Obviously, the Hydra aircraft suffered a severe impact when it crashed, and the wings also suffered a lot of damage.

Natasha also lived through World War II. Looking at the Hydra planes, she felt a little emotional and reminded of the past.

"My God, this aircraft adopts a very streamlined shooting style. The wings always feel a bit like the style of the US military's current B-Ghost bomber, but the size is much larger. There are also jet holes on the side and rear of the wings. Hydra was able to produce such an avant-garde aircraft in that era. Now think about it, Hydra has such advanced technology. It was really not easy for us to win the Second World War." After seeing Hydra's aircraft during World War II, an agent couldn't help but sigh.

"Okay, enough nonsense, let's get started on the rescue work. After we get back, you can browse the World War II archives stored within S.H.I.E.L.D." Nick Fury said calmly. This information wasn't exactly top secret, it was just inaccessible to ordinary people.

"Yes, Chief." The agents answered and started to act again.

"Director Nick, the acoustic structure detection equipment is ready. We can scan the wreckage." After a while, Coulson ran over and reported.

"Okay, let's prepare to explore the structure of the wreckage." Nick nodded.

Then a assembled device was moved along the pulley more than ten meters closer to the wreckage, and a 90-centimeter-diameter disc-shaped sonic transmitter on the device was aimed at the wreckage.

"Calibration completed." An agent operating the equipment reported after adjusting the detector.

"Let's begin," Nick Fury said.

"Yes!" The agent quickly took action.

A disc-shaped sonic transmitter aimed at the wreckage transmits bursts of sound waves at a fixed frequency toward the wreckage. This acoustic structure detector uses sound waves to effectively detect the internal structure of the target object.

After 40 seconds, the internal structure of the wreckage began to appear on the display behind the device. The bearings under the disc-shaped sonar transmitter were rotating, detecting more parts of the aircraft.

Soon, the structural diagram of the aircraft wreckage was detected and entry could begin.

"Natasha, Coulson, you two will lead the team and investigate inside the aircraft," Nick Fury ordered.

Natasha nodded and came to the aircraft with Coulson and a team of agents.

Accompanied by a burst of electric sparks, Natasha cut a roughly circular incision with a diameter of one meter on the outer shell of the aircraft.

With a "bang", the cut-off aircraft shell fell into the inside of the fuselage, and a while of echoing metal collision sounds came from inside the fuselage.

Looking at the cut metal hole, Natasha looked down. There was a lot of ice and snow inside, which was dark and gloomy. It was obviously pouring in from some damaged holes under the fuselage.

Several agents quickly tied the cables to the outer shell of the fuselage and secured them. Natasha was the first to descend along the cables.

The cabin was pitch black. Natasha used the searchlight in her hand to sweep around and saw that the huge cabin was filled with cold and gloom, and almost all objects were covered with ice and snow.

Chapter 33: Digging out Captain America

The cabin is quite large. The area that is initially exposed is enough to hold dozens of tons of cargo. Due to a large amount of ice and snow pouring in from some damaged areas on the lower part of the fuselage, the cabin is full of ice and snow.

"Look! What is this?" An agent used a searchlight to scan a very twisted object nearby, immediately exclaimed, and quickly walked forward to turn over the twisted object.

Natasha and Coulson also walked over and saw a twisted and deformed humanoid figure lying on the wall of the cabin.

This was a corpse that had been dried up by the cold. The eye sockets of the shriveled corpse had become extremely empty, the face was squeezed together, and the corpse was twisted weakly.

Below the remains, there is a uniquely shaped automatic rifle, which seems to combine the firearms of the World War II era with a very sci-fi style.

The clothes on the corpse caught Natasha's attention. The corpse was wearing an old-style black military uniform, very similar to the ones from World War II, but with some special features. On the arm of the uniform there was a skull with an octopus claw underneath.

The clothes on the corpse brought back Natasha's memories of World War II. Natasha sighed and said, "These are the remains of Hydra soldiers."

"This is..." Natasha picked up the uniquely shaped automatic rifle and handed it to an agent, saying, "Give it to Nick Fury."

"Yes! Sir!" The agent walked back the way he came, holding an automatic rifle made by Hydra during World War II.

"Sir. Come and look at this!" Another agent's voice rang out.

Coulson left Natasha and walked towards the direction of the agent who had just spoken. Although the cabin was a little tilted and there was ice and snow, it was still possible to walk, but one had to be careful.

When the searchlight shone down, one could see groups of giant oval bombs below. Part of them were covered with ice and snow, but the outlines of the bombs could still be seen clearly.
