Orkus sat in silence—until he turned on the radio.
What he heard nearly made his heart stop.
"Breaking news: Children have been born across the planet Thelek with unexplainable abilities, and the Coalition has now confirmed similar reports from other planets across the universe.
If your child—or any child near you—is experiencing strange symptoms, please take them to the nearest medical facility immediately."
Orkus turned slowly toward his wife, his face pale.
"…What are we going to do?" he asked, his voice shaking.
She stared ahead, the city lights flashing across her face.
"I don't know," she whispered.
