Chapter 4 - Clash of Powers

Chapter 4: Clash of Powers

The outskirts of the ruined city were silent too silent. Kael sensed it immediately. A rival summoner had come, drawn by the unprecedented power radiating from him. This one, arrogant and cruel, wielded a legion of lesser gods and fiendish spirits.

Kael's hand glowed with the Summoner's Mark. Lyria floated beside him, her silver hair streaming like light across the shadows. The demon, who had yet to reveal his name, shifted, horns glinting in the dim twilight.

"Husband… be careful," Lyria whispered, her hand brushing his. "I will not forgive anyone who harms you."

Kael smirked. "Relax. You're not the only one who can protect me."

With a sweep of his arm, the demon summoned a wave of darkness, twisting the battlefield into a labyrinth of shadows. From the sky, Lyria rained down beams of divine fire, cutting through the enemy's ranks with precision and grace.

The rival summoner's forces faltered, gods and demons alike clashing with Kael's summoned allies. Yet one figure, a dark god of war, emerged from the chaos, eyes blazing like molten steel.

"You dare challenge me, mortal?" it thundered.

Lyria's aura flared. "Husband… do not let him touch you." Her words carried authority that shook the god, forcing him to pause mid-strike.

Kael's lips curled into a confident grin. "You heard her. Step lightly." He raised a hand, and the demon erupted forward, shadow flames engulfing the dark god's feet, binding him in place.

The battle raged around them fire, lightning, shadow, and divine radiance colliding with deafening force. Yet Kael felt exhilaration, not fear. Every movement, every strike, was a dance of power between him, Lyria, and the demon.

At one moment, Lyria's silver hand brushed Kael's chest, her aura intensifying. "Husband… promise me, no harm will come to me while I fight for you."

Kael chuckled. "Not a chance. And don't worry I like having someone possessively jealous fighting by my side."

The demon, sensing Lyria's possessiveness, let out a low growl, shadowy wings unfurling. "Interesting… your goddess is… protective. I like it."

Together, divine and infernal forces moved as one, overwhelming the rival summoner. By the time the smoke cleared, Kael stood amidst the ruins, unscathed, Lyria glowing brighter than ever, and the demon leaning casually, flames flickering along his horns.

"Husband," Lyria whispered, her voice soft but deadly. "Do you realize what you've done? You've made them all… ours."

Kael grinned. "Yes. And this is only the beginning."

The world would remember this day the day Kael Thorne, summoner of gods and demons, carved his name into the very fabric of heaven and hell.
