"You're impossible!" Milim huffed, then scorching flames erupted from her palm, quickly turning the bear meat a crisp, golden brown.
"Sister, why do you have fire in your hand?"
Linlin's eyes widened as she stared at the brilliant flames in Milim's hand, subconsciously reaching out to touch them.
Milim slapped Linlin's hand away. "Don't touch it, you'll burn yourself."
"Oh!" Linlin withdrew her hand, looking a little hurt.
Seeing Linlin's aggrieved expression, Milim reached out, tore off a roasted bear leg, and handed it to Charlotte Linlin!
"Hurry up and eat, don't go hungry."
Seeing the bear leg, the hurt expression on Linlin's face vanished. "Yay, sister!"
She then grabbed the leg and began devouring it, bite after bite, her face quickly becoming covered in grease.
Seeing how happily Linlin was eating, Milim couldn't help but wonder if she had a hidden talent for cooking, making delicious bear meat on her first try.
Feeling a bit doubtful, Milim used her dragon claw to tear off a piece of meat from the giant bear and took a big bite.
Ptooey!
Spitting the meat out, Milim confirmed that she indeed had no talent for cooking. The only reason it was being eaten so enthusiastically was entirely due to Linlin.
Soon, the entire bear had been devoured by Charlotte Linlin alone. Witnessing this scene, Milim thanked her Ultimate Skill, King of Wrath, more than once.
After eating and drinking their fill, it was naturally time to sleep. Linlin casually pulled over a few giant leaves, laid them on the ground, and plopped down.
She then patted her round, bulging belly!
"Come on, sister, let's go to sleep." Linlin showed an innocent smile.
"Okay!" A somewhat distracted Milim jumped onto Linlin's belly and lay down as well. They had slept together like this for years; Milim liked sleeping on soft surfaces, and Linlin always remembered.
In a short while, the sound of Linlin's breathing came from beneath her. Milim looked at the few stars in the night sky, her mind replaying Linlin's innocent smile.
And the ugly appearance she would have in the original future. Milim resolved that she would absolutely not let her sister turn into that monstrous state.
Moreover, according to some analyses, Charlotte Linlin's cruel personality wasn't her own but was because she had accidentally eaten the nun, whose soul then occupied Linlin's body.
In the original story, after Linlin fell into the sea and lost her memory, her personality reverted to how she was as a child, unchanged.
All of this indicated that the nun did not completely die after being eaten by Linlin but survived in a new form.
Although this was all speculation, it didn't matter to Milim. As long as there was a possibility of it happening, Milim would not let it occur.
Milim groggily opened her eyes to find the sky covered with dark clouds, looking as if a heavy rain was about to fall.
Startled, Milim quickly jumped off Linlin's belly and rushed into the forest. With a few loud crashes, Milim came running out carrying several giant trees.
The commotion naturally woke Linlin up.
Still groggy from sleep, Linlin watched her sister run into the forest and then run back out carrying several trees, asking with confusion.
"Sister, is this a new game? But it's so loud!"
"You idiot, it's about to rain! I'm building a house. I don't want to get soaked."
"You, hurry up and help too." Milim grabbed a ten-meter-tall tree with one hand and tapped it against Linlin's forehead a few times.
This series of taps fully woke Linlin up. Rubbing her slightly itchy forehead, Linlin followed Milim's lead, ran into the forest, broke off a few giant trees, and carried them out, placing them on the ground.
Feeling they had enough wood, one of Milim's fingers became covered in scales, turning into a dragon's claw. The sharp claw easily cut through the giant trees, slicing them into pieces.
Next, Milim arranged the logs in a triangular frame, then found a pile of leaves to cover all the gaps on top. Their first wilderness survival shelter was complete.
Looking at the structure before her, Milim nodded in satisfaction. Although it had no technical sophistication and was built entirely with brute force, Milim still felt happy. Perhaps because her body had become smaller, her way of thinking had become younger as well.
Before the rain started to fall, Milim went into the forest again and caught some animals.
Just as she placed the animals on the roasting spit, the rain outside began to pour down as if the sea itself was falling from the sky, shrouding the entire ocean in a curtain of rain, leaving only a vast expanse of white.
"Wow!" Linlin stretched out her chubby little hand, catching the rainwater, then cupped the water and brought it to Milim!
"Sister, you have mud on your face. Wash it with some water."
Milim touched her face and found that there was indeed some dirt on it. Without hesitation, she used the water in Linlin's hands to wash her face.
After washing her face, Milim felt refreshed. She then compared her height to Linlin's.
Even at this young age, Linlin was already three or four meters tall, while she herself had just reached one meter. In the world of One Piece, her height was practically disabled.
The days passed slowly like this. Aside from Milim demanding that Linlin train every day, nothing else of note happened.
A year passed quickly.
Linlin had grown much taller, but Milim's height remained the same.
Today was supposed to be like any other day, but the arrival of a small boat shattered the peaceful life here.
Milim and Linlin were eating roasted meat when a tall nun in a habit, with a rather plain face, arrived at the shelter they had built.
The nun spoke in a gentle tone, "You must be homeless children. Come with me, I will take you to a new home."
Milim had no particular reaction, but the moment Linlin saw the nun, it was as if she was seeing her former mother again.
So she was especially friendly towards the nun. Coupled with the fact that Milim didn't try to stop her, the nun successfully led the two of them away from the deserted island.
The nun was currently feeling very pleased with her luck. The pink-haired giant child was clearly very talented; she would surely fetch a high price when sold.
As for the short one, she was quite good-looking. With some proper grooming, she could also be sold for a decent sum.
As the nun was thinking this, she was unaware that a pair of eyes behind her was staring daggers at her!
Milim's normal pupils had, at some unknown point, transformed into vertical, dragon-like slits. Her enhanced eyes possessed powerful observational abilities, which easily allowed her to read the nun's inner thoughts.
