Chapter 100 - Chapter 100

The main lobby of Pokémon Home hummed with an expectant energy, the soft glow of the display screens casting a welcoming light. The sliding doors opened with a gentle whoosh, revealing a parade of vibrant personalities and their equally unique Pokémon.

First stepped Kamala Khan, her Ms. Marvel suit a splash of red and blue, a wide, enthusiastic grin lighting her face. Beside her, Doreen Green, the Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, bounced in with an infectious cheerfulness. Emolga perched on Doreen's shoulder, its yellow cheek pouches twitching with curiosity, while Tippy-Toe rode on the other, her tiny head swiveling, taking in the grand spectacle.

"Oh my gosh, this is so cool!" Kamala exclaimed, her voice bubbling with excitement. "Look at everyone!"

"Right?" Doreen agreed, her tail swishing. "It's like a superhero potluck, but with more… Pokémon!"

Following them, the Teen Titans entered, a colorful ensemble moving with their characteristic blend of discipline and youthful chaos. Robin, ever stoic, led the way, his Pawniard marching with precise, metallic steps beside him, a silent blade of unwavering loyalty.

Starfire floated in, her orange skin radiant, Togepi cradled gently in her arms, its tiny body emitting a faint, happy glow. Raven, cloaked in her usual dark attire, drifted beside her, Misdreavus hovering near her shoulder, its red eyes flickering with quiet amusement.

"I am feeling the collective excitement," Starfire declared, her voice earnest. "It is most… sparkling."

"Don't encourage them, Starfire," Raven muttered, her tone dry. Misdreavus let out a soft, echoing giggle.

Cyborg strode in, his chrome body gleaming, a wide grin spreading across his face. Whismur, its small form nestled comfortably in a custom-built, sound-dampening pocket on his chest, let out a soft whimper of awe. Beast Boy, already halfway through a transformation into a green monkey, chattered excitedly, Rockruff bounding at his heels, its rocky collar jingling.

"BOOYAH! This is going to be epic!" Cyborg shouted, his voice echoing a little too loudly in the lobby.

"Quiet, friend Cyborg," Starfire said gently. "The noise might startle the little Whismur."

Valeria Richards entered with a focused stride, her blonde ponytail swaying. Beldum hovered silently beside her, its red eye scanning the room with analytical precision. Franklin Richards trailed close behind, Ralts floating by his side, its psychic horns glowing faintly as it absorbed the varied emotions filling the room.

"Look, Val, it's everyone!" Franklin whispered, his eyes wide.

"Indeed," Valeria replied, her gaze sweeping over the assembled heroes. "A statistically significant gathering of enhanced individuals."

Lastly, Batgirl, in her deep purple suit and flowing red hair, entered the bustling lobby. Froakie moved with silent grace at her heels, its foamy scarf a stark contrast to her dark attire. She kept her mask firmly in place, her eyes carefully observing the scene, a professional hero assessing an unfamiliar, intriguing landscape. She was here for answers, not accolades, ready to investigate this new world of Pokémon.

"This is certainly… quite the turnout," Barbara murmured to herself, her gaze lingering on Orion Oak, who stood at the counter with a welcoming smile, Pikachu perched on his shoulder.

Orion Oak, with Latias gracefully at his side and Pikachu perched on his shoulder, offered a warm, encompassing smile to the diverse group. The soft hum of the lobby seemed to swell, a quiet acknowledgment of the gathering.

"Welcome, everyone, to Pokémon Home," Orion said, his voice calm and inviting. "It is truly a pleasure to see so many familiar faces, and so many new partners."

Latias inclined her head slightly, her golden eyes reflecting the ambient light. "We are honored by your presence."

Pikachu, ever alert, gave a cheerful Pika! from Orion's shoulder, a bright spark of welcome. Kamala and Doreen exchanged excited glances, their Pokémon companions mirroring their enthusiasm. The Teen Titans, a mix of quiet observation and barely contained energy, nodded in return. Even Robin offered a stiff, almost imperceptible dip of his head.

Suddenly, the entrance doors slid open again, this time with a more boisterous swing. Harley Quinn burst in, a whirlwind of pink and blue, her wide grin practically splitting her face. Houndour trotted eagerly beside her, its dark fur sleek, eyes gleaming with a friendly but mischievous glint. Poison Ivy followed, her expression a familiar blend of resignation and exasperated affection, Budew nestled gently in her arms, its tiny leaves fluttering softly.

"Hey, everyone! Harley's here!" Harley shouted, her voice echoing through the lobby, a stark contrast to the earlier calm. "And I brought the bestest plant-mom ever, and the cutest little pupper!"

Ivy sighed, a long, drawn-out sound that perfectly conveyed her feelings. "Harley, please. We discussed decorum."

"Decorum? What's that, a new flavor of ice cream?" Harley quipped, spotting Batgirl. "Babsy-boo! Look who it is!"

Before anyone could react, Harley dashed across the lobby, throwing an arm around Batgirl's shoulders. Batgirl stiffened instantly, her body rigid under Harley's casual embrace, her mask doing little to hide the sudden discomfort in her eyes. Froakie, sensing its trainer's unease, shifted, a faint ripple of water-like energy momentarily appearing around its foamy collar.

"Long time no see, huh, Babs?" Harley chattered, giving Batgirl a squeeze. "You still mad about that bank thing?"

"No Harley… I got myself a Pokemon too!"

"Really! Awesome!"

Ivy simply rolled her eyes, offering a silent, apologetic shrug to the other heroes. Budew, in her arms, shivered slightly, a quiet reflection of the building tension. A low, warning growl rumbled from Houndour, its attention now fixed on the collective unease from the assembled heroes.

The tension in the lobby became palpable, a static charge filling the air as the heroes registered Harley and Ivy's presence. Robin's hand instinctively went to the hilt of his katana, his jaw tightening. Pawniard, mirroring its trainer, shifted its stance, the blades on its arms glinting. Froakie's foamy collar seemed to expand slightly around Batgirl, a silent warning. Beldum's single red eye focused, while Ralts pulsed with a faint, uneasy glow.

"Harley, perhaps this is not the most opportune moment for such… enthusiastic greetings," Ivy said, her voice a low, warning murmur, pulling Harley back gently.

"Aw, Red, you worry too much," Harley replied, pouting slightly. "It's just a bunch of hero-pals! We're all here for the Pokémon fun, right?"

Orion stepped forward, a calm presence amidst the brewing storm of hero-versus-villain tension. Pikachu, perched on his shoulder, watched with bright, intelligent eyes.

"Hold on, everyone," Orion said, his voice carrying a quiet authority that cut through the agitated murmurs. "Pokémon Home is a place of peace."

He paused, letting his words sink in. "No fighting or hostile actions are tolerated within these walls."

Harley, surprisingly, pulled away from Batgirl, her boisterous energy momentarily subdued. She offered a sheepish grin, a rare flicker of embarrassment crossing her face.

"We're all here as fellow Pokémon Trainers," Orion continued, his gaze sweeping over the assembled heroes and villains. "Regardless of past allegiances, here, all Trainers are equal."

He emphasized his point. "Respect for the Pokémon and the facility's rules is paramount."

The heroes, though still guarded, reluctantly lowered their defenses. Robin's hand slowly dropped from his katana, Pawniard's blades settling. Batgirl gave a slight nod, a silent acknowledgment of Orion's authority in his own domain. Even Ivy relaxed her stance, a faint sigh escaping her lips.

Orion then clasped his hands together, his expression shifting to one of anticipation. "Now that we've established the ground rules, I can explain why I've gathered you all here today."

A ripple of excited whispers spread through the room, mostly from the younger heroes.

"I have invited you all for a special Pokémon Tournament," Orion announced, his voice clear and resonant. "It is a friendly competition designed to help each Trainer and their Pokémon grow stronger."

He continued, "This event will also help prepare your Pokémon for the upcoming world transformation, which will bring an influx of wild Pokémon to this dimension."

"It's crucial that your Pokémon are well-prepared and adaptable for this new environment," Orion explained, a serious undertone in his voice. "This tournament is the perfect training ground."

Orion then leaned forward, a subtle twinkle in his eye, and announced the rewards, his voice creating a tangible sense of anticipation.

"For the first-place victor, a rare, unhatched Pokémon egg awaits," Orion explained, his gaze sweeping over the eager faces. "It offers the chance to discover a powerful new partner, a true companion for your journey."

"The second-place winner will receive a special evolution item," he continued, a hint of potential transformations in his tone. "Imagine the possibilities for your current partners."

"Third place will earn a Technical Machine, a TM," Orion added. "This device can teach a Pokémon a new, versatile move, expanding their combat abilities."

He smiled. "And for all other participants, rest assured, you will receive various common but incredibly useful items to aid in your Pokémon journeys."

A wave of palpable excitement washed over the group, a collective gasp and murmur filling the lobby.

"Oh, I am so in!" Franklin exclaimed, his eyes wide with competitive fire. Ralts floated beside him, already pulsing with a focused, psychic energy. "Ralts and I are going to win that egg, Val! You just watch!"

Valeria, ever the pragmatist, nodded thoughtfully. "This is an excellent opportunity to test Beldum's progress and gather valuable battle data." Beldum's red eye glowed with quiet readiness.

"Woohoo!" Kamala and Doreen cheered in unison, Eevee wagging its tail with delight and Emolga zipping around Doreen's head with joyful chirps.

Starfire clapped her hands together, a bright, pure smile on her face, Togepi chirping happily from her shoulder, echoing her boundless joy. Raven's Misdreavus let out a soft, echoing giggle, a rare display of spectral amusement, while Raven herself offered a faint, almost imperceptible smile.

"BOOYAH! Time to bring the noise, Whismur!" Cyborg roared, pumping a cybernetic fist. Whismur, nestled in its sound-dampening pouch, gave a timid but determined squeak. Beast Boy, halfway through a green monkey transformation, chattered excitedly, Rockruff bounding at his heels, a playful growl rumbling in its throat.

Robin, despite his earlier skepticism, felt a flicker of competitive interest ignite in his dark eyes. Pawniard, at his side, seemed to stand a little straighter, its blades glinting with anticipation.

"I will assess the competence of our adversaries," Robin stated, his voice clipped and precise, already analyzing the potential matchups.

"Heck yeah! We're gonna win that egg, Houndour!" Harley shrieked, already envisioning glorious, chaotic battles. Houndour barked enthusiastically, a puff of smoke escaping its nostrils.

Ivy, though still reserved, offered a small, determined nod. "It will be good training for Budew, Harley. And perhaps, a chance to refine our strategies." Budew, in her arms, bobbed its little head in agreement.
