Ruby's POV
"Truth or dare? What are you, twelve?" Stanley rolled his eyes with obvious disdain.
"Oh come on, it'll be exciting! We've never done this together, and I bet Ruby would love to discover more about Elias," Kate shot me an encouraging smile.
My stomach twisted with uncertainty. Part of me desperately wanted to learn about Elias's secrets. But knowing him, he had walls thicker than concrete. I wasn't confident my probing wouldn't trigger his defensive side.
To my complete shock, Elias nodded first. "Why not? I'm free tonight."
He settled onto the leather couch, and I quickly claimed the spot beside Kate. Stanley looked ready to murder someone, but eventually dropped down with the rest of us.
A uniformed maid appeared with an empty beer bottle as Kate rattled off the basic guidelines: "I'll give it a spin. Whoever gets chosen picks truth or dare."
"We're all adults here. Just get on with it," Stanley muttered impatiently.
"Fine, let's start."
