Ruby's POV
My palm connected with his face before I could stop myself. The crack echoed through the room like a gunshot.
"No, I don't deserve it. But neither do you. Because you're nothing but a monster."
The red handprint blooming across his cheek shocked even me. I hadn't realized I possessed that kind of strength.
Furious snarls erupted from every corner of the room. Several pack members dropped into predatory crouches, their canine teeth gleaming as they bared them at me.
"Alpha, that bitch just struck you!" one of them roared.
"Completely unacceptable. Give her to us and we'll teach her some respect!"
"Rip her throat out!" the females shrieked in unison.
One of them launched herself at me, claws extended to drag me from the couch. But Elias spun around with lightning speed and released a bone-chilling growl that made the windows rattle.
"STAY BACK."
