Chapter 6 - The Child Who Didn’t Pretend

I don't need to continue pretending to be dead.

The burlap bag instantly shattered, leaving everyone in the van dumbfounded."What's going on? Is this a magic trick? My dear, are you human or a ghost?" someone stammered.

I stood up innocently, still drinking my milk tea. I looked harmless.

We opened the van door. Several kidnappers and I stepped out. By this time the factory yard had already gathered more than a dozen bodyguards. In the center sat a hot-bodied woman.

"Eh, sister, we have no grudges. Why did you kidnap me?" I asked innocently.

"Children can be amusing," she replied. "They're so innocent to ask such childish questions. Of course someone wants to find you because they think you're cute."

"Who wants to find me?" I asked.

"You'll know when you get there," she said with a sigh. "All right — then we'll have to force it out of you. I don't like hitting people."

Everyone present burst into laughter.

"Hey, I'm telling the truth! Why does nobody believe me?" I demanded.

In an instant, my clothes moved though there was no wind. A strong sense of pressure swept over everyone — as if an invisible weight pressed down on their chests. The woman's expression changed immediately.

"Catch him!" she ordered.

The bodyguards rushed toward me in a frenzy.

I raised my little hand slightly. Stones scattered on the ground and floated into the air. The bodyguards were only a few steps away when I pointed my finger.

In an instant, more than a dozen stones shot rapidly toward them.

Pitter-patter — the stones struck the bodyguards. For a moment they all froze in their tracks.

The woman screamed in terror, "What's going on? A bunch of animals—hurry up!"

I walked step by step toward her. I had only used stones to hit the bodyguards' acupoints. If I hadn't held back, they would have become corpses on the spot.

Seeing this eerie scene, the woman hastily launched a signal flare.

By then, I was already standing in front of her, smiling sweetly. "Can you tell me now? I don't want you to be frightened, sister."

She gritted her teeth. "Can a grown woman be scared by a child as small as a worm?"

She breathed a sigh of relief and reached out—then smack. A crisp slap echoed through the factory. The woman's left cheek swelled quickly.

At that moment, the sound of urgent brakes rang out. A new group of bodyguards arrived, and at their front was a bald man.

The bald man looked impatient. Dark-skinned, nearly two meters tall, he resembled a humanoid bear and stared at me intently. Shock flashed across my blue pupils — not because of his physique, but because of a faint spiritual energy emanating from his body. Weak and murky, yet present.

"Master said there won't be any immortals on earth," I thought, "because of the thin spiritual energy and lack of external forces — they simply don't have the conditions for immortality." My little head spun. Forget it — think about this later.

The bald man taunted the woman. "You — a woman — still get beaten by a little kid? Is the young master underestimating you? I have to make a move."

Chen Chuchu touched her swollen cheek and choked out, "Black Bear — take down this little beast quickly!"

The "black bear" waved his hand. His gaze shifted to me. We looked at each other — one fierce, one silly and sweet.

The black bear waved again and dozens of bodyguards behind him surged forward.

I moved with such speed that no one could react.

A soft punch sent the 600-lb man flying two meters away. Everyone was momentarily stunned.

"This… this damn thing — something a kid can do?" someone muttered.

I moved through the crowd. Every time I punched or kicked, a bodyguard would be sent flying. In my eyes, these people were too slow, too weak. I could easily pulverize them.

In only a minute, a group of bodyguards lay on the ground, wailing and bent over like shrimp. I was holding back — otherwise that soft punch could have killed someone.

Since entering the midterm training period, my physical fitness wasn't a simple addition — it had increased several times over.

"I've already said I don't want to fight. I just want to know who wants to kidnap me," I said.

Black Bear remained calm. "Kid, although I don't know how you did that, stop and come with me."

He stepped forward with unstoppable momentum, like a bulldozer. I was curious — this guy was stronger than the others. The black bear quickened his pace and surged toward me.

I stepped forward to meet him.
