Chapter 12 - Mission

After weeks of training, Fu Hua began teaching Harin her signature techniques.

With her sharp intellect and keen intuition, Harin absorbed the fundamentals quickly.

Within a week, she could execute a full set of forms. The rest was refinement.

Now, two months later, her foundation was solid.

At the clearing in the Square Park, Fu Hua and Harin stood face to face.

A crowd of familiar uncles and aunties gathered to watch.

In the corner, sipping tea beneath a tree, sat Qingyi—her signature twin ponytails swaying in the breeze.

She often came here to relax, play chess, and occasionally spectate.

Naturally, she knew all about Harin's progress.

A breeze swept through the park.

Harin exhaled, dropped into stance, and dashed forward—her palm aimed at Fu Hua's abdomen.

Fu Hua stepped back, calmly deflecting with a single hand.

The two exchanged blows, but Fu Hua remained composed, countering with ease.

Gone was the timid logistics officer from the Silver Squad.

Standing here was Harin, ninth disciple of the Taixu Sect.

Spotting a slight delay in Fu Hua's movement, Harin shifted her attack—palm to fist, aiming for Fu Hua's center.

Fu Hua raised her hand to block, but Harin feinted, switching to an elbow strike and shifting her weight.

Fu Hua smirked and hooked her foot.

Harin stumbled, nearly falling—but caught herself with both hands and spun into a roundhouse kick.

Fu Hua stepped back, nodding with approval.

"Good… But remember, aggression is only useful if it suppresses your opponent. Don't leave openings."

She dodged another punch and countered with a palm strike toward Harin's chest.

Harin froze, bracing for impact.

But nothing came.

She opened her eyes slowly.

Fu Hua's hand hovered just inches from her.

"Well done. The match is over."

The crowd erupted in applause.

"Harin's come a long way in just a few months!"

"She's growing stronger every day!"

Someone nudged Qingyi.

"Hey, Sheriff—why don't you spar with Master Fu Hua?"

Qingyi waved them off with a sigh.

"No thanks. I'd get folded in seconds."

Fu Hua walked over, calm as ever.

"Sheriff Qingyi, your training path is different. You deal with criminals. I deal with combat."

Qingyi gave her a look.

"You're too composed for your own good."

Just then, Zhu Yuan rushed over.

"Senior! There you are. We've got a situation."

"I haven't even finished my tea…"

"Emergency Hollow outbreak. Let's go!"

"Fine, fine. I'm coming."

Zhu Yuan dragged Qingyi away like a reluctant catfish.

Fu Hua sipped her tea and sighed.

"Some people get leisure. I get chaos."

Her phone buzzed repeatedly.

Shepherd:

Miss Red Kite, urgent mission!

A wealthy client is trapped in a sudden Hollow breach!

Three million Dennies reward—please hurry!

Miss Red Kite!!!

Fu Hua frowned, set down her cup, and stood.

"Harin, we've got a mission. Let's move."

"Yes, Master!"
