Chapter 15 - Joining

"Mr. Lycaon… what I said earlier was just a cover story. But—can I actually join Victoria Housekeeping?"

Harin blinked, stunned.

"Master, you… really?"

Fu Hua nodded calmly.

"Having a legitimate identity makes things easier. And from what I've seen, your organization operates with precision and discretion."

Lycaon adjusted his tie, smiling with professional poise.

"Miss Fu Hua, your strength and conduct align perfectly with our standards. Your presence would elevate our reputation."

"Do I need to prepare anything?"

"If you're free, I'll escort you to our office for formal review. Once approved, you'll be officially registered. I'll also notify our tailoring division to prepare your uniform."

Fu Hua waved a hand.

"No need. I'll bring my own attire. Tomorrow afternoon—does that work?"

"Your decisiveness is admirable. Tomorrow it is, Miss Fu Hua."

"See you then."

On the Way Home

Harin glanced at Fu Hua as they walked.

"Master… you're really joining Victoria Housekeeping?"

"Of course. High-end clients mean high-end commissions. And with a formal identity, everything else becomes easier."

"I get it."

Fu Hua smiled.

"You did well today. What do you want to eat?"

"Burger! Fried chicken burger! I saw sister Anby ate one once—she looked so cool!"

Fu Hua raised an eyebrow.

"Wait… did you just say you saw something inappropriate?"

Harin flailed.

"No no no! You misheard, Master!"

Fu Hua sighed.

"Fine. Fried chicken burger it is."

"Yay! Master is the best!"

The next day, Fu Hua stood in front of the mirror in her training gear, red-rimmed glasses perched on her nose.

"Do I really look outdated?"

She removed the glasses and stared at her reflection.

"Doesn't seem that different. People's aesthetics are hard to understand."

She placed the glasses on the table and opened her system interface.

White Night Deacon — Activate.

A soft glow enveloped her.

Her hairstyle remained mostly unchanged, but the red rims became sleek black.

Her aura shifted—cool, composed, commanding.

She now wore a white tuxedo with a dark blue lining, a blue-and-white plaid tie, and tailored dark trousers with a white belt.

Polished leather shoes gleamed beneath her.

Black gloves completed the look.

Fu Hua examined herself in the mirror.

"This… feels sharper."

She stepped into the living room.

Harin, lounging on the sofa, looked up—and froze.

"Master… when are we—WHOA!"

She jumped up, eyes wide.

"You look amazing! So cool! So elegant!"

She circled Fu Hua, inspecting every detail.

"You finally ditched the old training outfit and those red glasses! I'm crying—literally!"

She pulled out tissues from who-knows-where and wipe imaginary tears.

Fu Hua raised an eyebrow.

"Is it that bad..?"

"Of course! If I had your figure, I'd wear this every day!"

Fu Hua's expression flattened.

"You're exaggerating. Let's go train."

"Yes, Master!"
