Felix decided he would ignore the system the next time it showed up.
Of course, he didn't really hold a grudge, it was just that he felt a bit lonely.
He had no one to talk to about his situation.
In his past life, he used to talk tea with his girl best friends, gossiping and laughing about everything, but now he couldn't.
He remembered Sian, the first friend he met in this new world, and the only person he could talk to besides the system.
If he remembers correctly, their exams should be done by now.
Felix took a note in his holoscreen and wrote, 'Bother Sian'.
Felix slumped in his chair, "Hmmmmm.. I should play that game."
He was bored out of his mind.
If he remembered right, the developer's name was Rafi.
He decided to check out his profile on GameStar and opened the profile page:
[ Rafi
Single (Heart.Emoji)
ENTP
The one and only Rafi (Smug.Emoji)
Solsphere Entertainment (Robot.OppaHeart.Emoji)
Game Developer (Proud.Emoji)
Currently out now!! 「 Shoot the Alien」
]
Each emoji beside the text was a chibi version of Rafi, drawn in a soft and cute style.
He had mint-green hair, slightly messy, with a few strands falling just above his eyes.
Felix had three dots forming on his forehead.
For a moment, he thought he was looking at a dating app.
He wasn't the type to judge, so he quickly brushed it off and kept scrolling.
Aside from the professional post announcing his new game, the rest were…
"How should I put it?" Felix thought of his girl best friend's social media phase back in his old world.
Rafi's posts were all about his daily life with no filter, almost like a personal diary.
"By his age, he's probably young..? He must be a young genius, an interstellar game developer known across the entire galaxy," Felix started making excuses about the interseller game developers.
"I haven't met any other game developers yet." Felix thought they would have a professional attitude, since in this world, game developers and doctors shared a similar level of importance.
So he assumed they would carry that kind of professional aura.
[ Host, Rafi is indeed young, ]
Felix raised an eyebrow. "Oh? How old is he then?"
The system confidently replied, [ By your world's standards, he's still in his prime! ]
Felix started doubting the system. It hadn't actually said Rafi's age at all.
"So… how old is he?"
[ By your human standards, he is around 20… ]
It sounded uncertain. Felix noticed that the system had become more emotional and expressive the more games he made.
It didn't sound like a robot anymore.
When it first appeared, it only showed a few emoticons before disappearing whenever he asked questions.
But now… it almost sounded alive.
Felix muttered, "Twenty years old… ha." If that was the case, Rafi was still a young adult.
Felix didn't dwell on his age, he didn't care much about that.
What he was really curious about was what kind of species Rafi was.
Since the system was avoiding that topic Felix didn't dwell much.
Felix downloaded [Shoot the Alien]with just a blink, the game was already installed. Excited, he launched it right away.
An astonishing scene unfolded. In the lobby, a little bear was rummaging through laser guns with its tiny paws.
It was the character Tierra, the one Felix had created himself. He couldn't help but feel struck by the unbearable cuteness of the bear in front of him.
The lobby had a homepage that seemed inspired by Subway Surfer.
There was no tutorial, and players could start playing right away.
The title Shoot the Alien was straightforward, letting players understand the goal immediately, unlike Subway Surfer or Temple Run, where players often questioned Tierra Entertainment about the strange names.
Unfortunately, there was only one developer, and Felix didn't like interacting with outsiders.
He had no desire to stream either.
He only tried streaming out of curiosity since he once dreamed of being a streamer.
He even imagined having his own Minecraft server just for streaming and other fun things like popular streamers did. But that dream never happened.
When Felix finally got a chance to try streaming in this world by playing Splatoon, he realized he didn't enjoy it at all.
He preferred making games, and that alone was already enjoyable for him.
That was when he decided he would not be a streamer like the original Felix at all.
He would probably only stream for his own interest, like what he did with Splatoon, to help players understand the mechanics properly and know what to do.
On the display, Shoot the Alien appeared in a sleek sci-fi style.
Hovering cars glided through the air between glowing skyscrapers, their lights reflecting off metallic streets.
The city shimmered in shades of blue and violet, giving off a futuristic glow.
In the center, a small bear was fidgeting with a laser gun in its paw.
Felix's eyes sparkled like stars. "The more I stare, the cuter it becomes."
He proudly applauded himself for being a genius who created such an adorable creature.
He even forgot his original task when he downloaded this game from his rival.
Felix tapped through the menu with a frown, his eyes narrowing.
"There's no difference in the menu, and the characters and skins have nothing at all aside from that… It seems like they didn't copy Subway Surfer well."
The only thing they copied was the revive feature and the laser gun skins, which looked identical except for color.
Felix was speechless.
